[00:00:00] What's going on everyone welcome to another episode of our brains hurt. Thank you so much for hanging out

[00:00:04] We have a show coming up this month August 24th at Atlas Brew Works in DC

[00:00:10] Steel Boy 40 reps Houston and the Dirty Rats keep your secrets that Saturday August 24th

[00:00:17] Atlas Brew Works

[00:00:18] Get your tickets come hang out. We will see you there now. Let's get to the show

[00:00:30] They called us again and they gave us 20 bucks and we wrote them a song that said you can't stand

[00:00:35] They gave us more money and they asked us really nice and we finally gave in and we said alright

[00:00:39] Alright, you were song but it's gonna be a clone of a screeching weasel song that we heard a while ago

[00:00:44] So we wrote them a jingle and it sounded really rad

[00:00:47] It was the best little jingle that the pockets ever had but the file got corrupted and the email didn't work

[00:00:52] Now they're stuck without a jingle singing our brains hurt

[00:00:55] Our brains hurt, our brains hurt, our brains hurt

[00:01:00] Our brains hurt, our brains hurt, our brains hurt

[00:01:05] Our brains hurt, our brains hurt, our brains hurt

[00:01:10] Our brains hurt, our brains hurt, our brains hurt

[00:01:15] In a very non-copyright infringing sort of way

[00:01:19] What up? How's it going?

[00:01:22] I got coffee

[00:01:25] Nice

[00:01:26] And I got booze

[00:01:28] There you go

[00:01:30] What else is there really?

[00:01:32] Yeah

[00:01:34] Welcome to an episode of us

[00:01:36] Yeah, what's up everybody?

[00:01:40] So you're wearing a Houston in a dirty rat shirt I saw Houston last night

[00:01:44] Yeah, I had the Savage Mountain Punk Fest

[00:01:47] He was there. He plays tonight though, right?

[00:01:50] No, he's not playing at all. He's just volunteering

[00:01:53] Oh, he's just there

[00:01:55] Yeah, so I think he's working because Jerry who runs the fest also runs the non-profit which is Savage Mountain Punk Arts

[00:02:05] And I think that Houston does work with them

[00:02:11] So yeah, Houston was there just kind of helping out and stuff

[00:02:16] It's funny because I pulled up the hotel that I stayed at right around the corner from the place

[00:02:21] And as I was driving by it was like a few minutes before doors open so there were people outside and I was like

[00:02:28] Who's that guy with the funny hat and the shorts?

[00:02:31] I thought it was Houston

[00:02:33] I went to my hotel and came back and he was like, yeah it is you

[00:02:37] So I don't know if you know this or not about Houston

[00:02:40] But a lot of bands from elsewhere in the country hit him up when they want to tour the East Coast

[00:02:46] And he like manages them and he'll drive them around the East Coast and tour with them

[00:02:52] Which is really fucking cool

[00:02:54] I learned that yesterday. He was telling me he just finished doing that with some band or something

[00:02:58] Yeah, which is a friend of mine, Brett Wood who I met online originally if he's from the West Coast

[00:03:06] He used to play with the Lucky Aegis

[00:03:08] He toured, I think he played bass for them on a couple tours

[00:03:12] But he's been in a bunch of other fucking bands

[00:03:18] Back in 2018, whatever band he was playing in played here in Fredericksburg

[00:03:26] And I didn't even know I just was at the spot

[00:03:28] It was this old bar that doesn't exist anymore

[00:03:30] And I went there that night

[00:03:33] Just really to drink not even realizing there was a show

[00:03:36] There was a bunch of my friends work there and there was a show

[00:03:39] And he fucking walked by me

[00:03:41] And I looked at him and I was like

[00:03:45] Don't I know you?

[00:03:47] His name's Brett Wood

[00:03:49] So yeah, fuck yeah we do

[00:03:51] And you had never met him in person before that?

[00:03:53] No

[00:03:55] You just knew him from online

[00:03:57] It was a coincidence that we ended up at the same spot

[00:03:59] His band was on tour

[00:04:00] Well anyways they ended up crashing at my house that night

[00:04:02] I was like yeah, you guys have a big Winnebago thing

[00:04:05] I was like yeah I can open my fence

[00:04:07] And they fucking crashed here that night

[00:04:12] Super fucking rad

[00:04:13] Well anyways, that was Brett Wood's new band

[00:04:17] Or whatever the band he's playing in right now is the Scott Punk band

[00:04:20] Who just toured the East Coast with Houston

[00:04:22] And they posted a picture the other day on Facebook

[00:04:28] Everything coming to an end or whatever

[00:04:30] And I think it was Houston who posted a picture of them

[00:04:34] It was like tour done, blah blah blah

[00:04:36] And I was like shit

[00:04:39] And the East Coast Brett Wood sighting

[00:04:42] Because I haven't talked to him forever

[00:04:44] And Brett immediately hit me back and was just like

[00:04:46] He was like dude you don't even know

[00:04:48] We literally call Houston East Coast Brett Wood

[00:04:52] Oh that's so funny

[00:04:53] That's actually his nickname

[00:04:56] I was like ha!

[00:04:57] Hilarious yeah

[00:04:58] That's awesome

[00:04:59] Both of them are all over the place touring constantly

[00:05:02] Like that's what they do

[00:05:04] But Brett's obviously on the West Coast

[00:05:07] Where is he on the West Coast? Cali?

[00:05:09] No I think he's at currently somewhere in Washington

[00:05:14] Like Seattle

[00:05:15] Something like that or Olympia maybe

[00:05:18] Cool

[00:05:19] I think he lives in Washington State

[00:05:23] Cool

[00:05:24] Pretty sure

[00:05:25] That's funny man

[00:05:26] I know yeah

[00:05:27] I still have the poster there

[00:05:30] Because I had to go to work early the next morning when they stayed here

[00:05:33] I had a roommate at the time so

[00:05:36] They all left well after I had gone to work super early in the morning

[00:05:40] And they put one of their band posters on my fridge

[00:05:44] With a really nice written note on the bottom

[00:05:47] You know where like the white spot is for more information

[00:05:50] They wrote out this whole nice

[00:05:52] Oh that's cool

[00:05:53] It's still on my fridge to this day

[00:05:55] Because it was super rad of them

[00:05:57] That's awesome

[00:05:58] They were really good houseguests

[00:06:00] It actually was them and another band

[00:06:03] There was like eight people in my tiny little fucking house

[00:06:05] That's funny

[00:06:06] Yeah

[00:06:08] Eight extra people

[00:06:09] Including the two people that lived here

[00:06:12] Where was that show? What club doesn't exist anymore?

[00:06:15] Well it wasn't a club it was a bar called Fat Boys

[00:06:19] Who started having shows

[00:06:21] It was actually right down the street from my house

[00:06:24] Gotcha

[00:06:27] They have

[00:06:28] The guy who ran that place

[00:06:30] They had great food, they had barbecue

[00:06:32] They had like a smoke around the parking lot and shit

[00:06:34] Great spot

[00:06:35] They just got a little too involved in partying

[00:06:39] Yeah

[00:06:40] With like yeah and the place got eventually

[00:06:43] You know went under

[00:06:45] Shut down

[00:06:46] But the dude who runs the place now

[00:06:50] Has opened back up not downtown

[00:06:52] A little outside of downtown at Stafford

[00:06:55] As just a solely barbecue spot that doesn't sell to people

[00:06:59] That doesn't sell booze or anything like that

[00:07:01] And they're doing quite well for themselves

[00:07:03] Oh nice

[00:07:04] Dude understands barbecue

[00:07:06] Nice

[00:07:07] There's not many people in Virginia that do

[00:07:09] Yeah

[00:07:10] That's funny that Houston does that because one of like

[00:07:14] This business idea that I've had forever

[00:07:16] Because I love

[00:07:17] Obviously I love going to shows and I also love driving

[00:07:20] Yeah

[00:07:21] So I always thought it would be cool to start like a

[00:07:24] Touring company where you could like kind of

[00:07:26] Have a fleet of vans and drivers

[00:07:29] And you could just take bands out on the road like

[00:07:32] And basically you know you could just drive for them

[00:07:34] And manage them and they could just not worry about

[00:07:38] You know they could drink and do and party or whatever

[00:07:41] Because they don't have to worry about driving to the next city

[00:07:45] Yeah

[00:07:46] Yeah

[00:07:47] Who knows

[00:07:48] Just for anybody who's in this area who doesn't know what I'm talking about

[00:07:51] The spot is called Wellman & Sons Barbecue

[00:07:54] Cool

[00:07:55] It's off of 218

[00:07:56] In Stafford?

[00:07:57] Stafford yeah

[00:07:58] Nice

[00:07:59] They know what they're doing

[00:08:00] Awesome

[00:08:01] Let me make sure that

[00:08:02] Well while you're making sure of that let me correct

[00:08:05] So I've been calling

[00:08:06] So we're having a beer release on September 21st

[00:08:09] I've been calling it True Veil

[00:08:11] This whole time it's actually pronounced True Vi

[00:08:13] Ah I was right

[00:08:14] True yeah

[00:08:15] I've been saying that the whole time

[00:08:16] Like you said that and I was like

[00:08:18] It looks like a French word

[00:08:20] It's probably supposed to be pronounced True Vi

[00:08:22] Yeah

[00:08:23] Yeah

[00:08:24] Does that mean?

[00:08:25] No

[00:08:26] Let's see let's see let's see what the Google says

[00:08:31] Yeah

[00:08:35] Yeah True Vi

[00:08:36] I took French for three years

[00:08:38] There you go

[00:08:39] That's about all I know that a word spelled like that should be pronounced a certain way

[00:08:44] I don't know much else except for

[00:08:47] I should I mean Versailles spelled like that right?

[00:08:50] Voulez-vous accoucher avec moi?

[00:08:52] Oh yeah

[00:08:53] I know what that means

[00:08:55] I studied that one

[00:08:57] Because I was talking to the sound guy and the sound guy is good friends with them

[00:09:00] I was like yeah it's you know True Veil he's like True Vi

[00:09:02] I was like what?

[00:09:03] Yeah

[00:09:04] It's actually pronounced True Vi

[00:09:05] And he was like

[00:09:07] He said there was a story behind it but he it's just yeah

[00:09:10] It means a lucky find

[00:09:12] Okay

[00:09:14] Now that I see it and hear it like that it totally makes sense

[00:09:17] Now I feel like an idiot for calling it True Veil like

[00:09:19] I thought I thought you were calling it True Veil because you know the dude and

[00:09:23] No

[00:09:26] Nope it was just me being ignorant

[00:09:29] So whatever you don't know French

[00:09:31] Yeah I don't know

[00:09:32] If it was Japanese you'd have had that shit down

[00:09:33] Oh totally

[00:09:37] Yeah True Vi

[00:09:38] Yeah True Vi

[00:09:41] Yeah so I went to Savage Mountain yesterday saw Houston doing his thing

[00:09:45] Hung out with Billy from the putts

[00:09:46] Yes

[00:09:47] That's all the pictures

[00:09:48] So the first thing I did before I left Crofton

[00:09:51] So there's this liquor store near me and there's one so the one that always has the the pumpkin beers and the seasonals that I used to always go to they sold they have new ownership as of a few months ago and it's not their selection isn't as good

[00:10:09] So I

[00:10:11] Yeah I know

[00:10:12] Thumbs down

[00:10:14] Now it is only August

[00:10:16] Whatever you still get the thumbs down approval

[00:10:18] Yes

[00:10:19] Disapproval

[00:10:20] Yeah

[00:10:21] From O.B.H.

[00:10:22] Boo

[00:10:23] Yeah yeah but I could tell by their current selection of like you know craft beers and shit that it's not going to be like it was

[00:10:31] So they've been dicking around

[00:10:33] They've been digging around

[00:10:34] And Ron and Papa Ronnie Shakes is shopping elsewhere from now on

[00:10:38] That's right you're about to lose 90% of your fall customer patronage

[00:10:43] Stupid dicks

[00:10:46] So there's this bigger liquor store down a little further down and I went there and they had a couple so I got a four pack of shipyard smashed pumpkin smashing pumpkins or smashed pumpkin

[00:11:00] I was like I'm gonna have to have to drink a pumpkin beer with Billy so I took it

[00:11:05] Yeah of course

[00:11:06] Yeah and we did he sent you the picture

[00:11:08] Yeah

[00:11:09] We were drinking in the alley

[00:11:10] Yeah that's where you got to do it

[00:11:12] That's true punk rockers

[00:11:14] That's right

[00:11:15] Yeah so

[00:11:20] Yeah it's funny because their drummer was at the merch table and it was like

[00:11:25] There's this long hallway in the back of Mezzos where all the bands set up their merch and they were like the last one at the end

[00:11:32] And he was like and he was he was he was his side was facing out and he was hunched down looking at his phone and I was like is that Billy

[00:11:40] I don't think that's Billy

[00:11:42] He's got a ball cap on it's Billy

[00:11:43] He had a ball cap well this guy had a ball cap too that's what I mean

[00:11:46] Yeah of course yeah

[00:11:47] But it wasn't it was the drummer

[00:11:49] Oh

[00:11:50] But I never went up to him that's why I was like Billy where are you I sent him like a jab I was like I don't think that's you sitting at your merch table and then I'm sitting there I walk in and all of a sudden he comes up to me he's like that was my fucking drummer that wasn't me

[00:12:05] So we started talking and yeah Billy is pretty tall I didn't realize how tall he was

[00:12:11] Was he like my height

[00:12:12] What's that

[00:12:13] Is he like my height

[00:12:14] Yeah he might be maybe a little shorter than you

[00:12:17] He's up there

[00:12:18] Yeah

[00:12:19] He's probably a little shorter than you but I didn't think he was that tall either

[00:12:22] Yeah but yeah they were it was awesome I got to see got to see Mike Billups from Reckless Threat and Cough and Curse Records

[00:12:29] Yeah I wish I could have come up last night

[00:12:32] I get it

[00:12:33] It was fun it was it was cool to see those two dudes and then I met Forrest as well also in Reckless Threat and

[00:12:41] Yeah

[00:12:42] Seeing Jerry I haven't seen Jerry in like

[00:12:46] In person in a while right

[00:12:48] It's been almost two years since I've seen him in person when he

[00:12:51] Since the pie shop probably right

[00:12:52] Yeah because they opened for the queers and we had the queers

[00:12:55] Yeah right yeah yeah

[00:12:58] Yeah so that was the last the last OBH Fest

[00:13:00] Yeah yeah yeah so

[00:13:04] Yeah so you know I hung out with him for a while and

[00:13:08] He told me that next year I'll cut this part out so stay tuned for this to hear this secret at a later

[00:14:16] Yeah it was fun and I got to see you know Jerry, Mercedes, John and Donna Bowling who I haven't seen in a long time

[00:14:24] You know Houston like I said like this

[00:14:27] Obviously hung out with Justin

[00:14:29] Yeah yeah Justin and Chris from Goodman Do Nothing

[00:14:32] Did you crash in Justin's room?

[00:14:34] I got my own room I have to get my own space

[00:14:37] Yeah you've said that before

[00:14:40] But it's funny because I was checking into my room

[00:14:43] And as I was like putting the key to my door the door next to it opened up and Justin came walking out

[00:14:47] So I was like

[00:14:49] Oh you were literally in the room right next to him?

[00:14:51] Yeah and so we just opened up our because we had the door in the room too

[00:14:55] No shit just by chance you guys got rooms

[00:14:58] Yeah I was checking in and he was walking out with his friend Hud

[00:15:01] And I was like hey what's up guys?

[00:15:03] He's like oh man

[00:15:04] Oh yeah so you had adjoining rooms that's crazy

[00:15:07] Yeah it was cool

[00:15:08] Yeah it was good I mean it was

[00:15:10] Mezzos is a cool place

[00:15:12] Good food

[00:15:14] When you guys played so you played the first one

[00:15:18] Yeah but it wasn't in

[00:15:20] It was at Dante's in Frostberg

[00:15:21] Correct yeah

[00:15:22] Yeah yeah so Matt and I are alumni of Savage Mountain Punk Fest

[00:15:27] I played the very first one

[00:15:29] Played the very first one yeah

[00:15:30] Yeah

[00:15:31] And I think we played the second and third

[00:15:33] Dante's in Frostberg was a cool spot

[00:15:35] It was it was really cool yeah

[00:15:37] The only thing that sucked about that show is

[00:15:41] Is as I know the story to be true

[00:15:47] You know we were supposed to play in a prime time spot at like 7 or 8 p.m

[00:15:54] And apparently Timmy Payne

[00:15:57] Because Payne was supposed to play at like 4 p.m on the first day

[00:16:01] Yeah

[00:16:02] Apparently he went to Jerry and told Jerry a bunch of lies that we had to switch with them

[00:16:07] And so we got moved to 4 p.m and Payne got moved to the prime spot at like 8 p.m

[00:16:14] Oh I thought

[00:16:15] We were just told this we were just told this at some point

[00:16:18] And we were like what why did we get moved

[00:16:21] And we were told that oh I thought you guys had to like leave or something

[00:16:26] And we were like what

[00:16:27] And it stood

[00:16:30] Yeah

[00:16:31] Yeah and I mean we still had a bunch of people watching us

[00:16:34] But it was a really fucking weird thing

[00:16:36] Yeah that was that was my my first negative interaction with him

[00:16:43] With Timmy

[00:16:44] Yeah I had to heard stories previous to that

[00:16:47] But that was my first real like wait a second did this actually happen

[00:16:51] And it did it did happen like

[00:16:53] Wow

[00:16:54] Yeah that was early on in Savage Mange and he was I guess jealous of us from the

[00:17:01] Fandom we had created at that point in a year and and had gone to I don't know if it was Jerry or somebody else

[00:17:07] But had told them this complete fucking lie to get them switched in their time slot with us

[00:17:12] That's crazy man

[00:17:13] Yeah yeah I know it is fucking crazy right

[00:17:17] And we were trying not to be petty about it so we just fucking played because we were like

[00:17:22] We were leaving to go on tour in like I think that was like actually the first

[00:17:27] Stop on our tour although granted we were going home after that and then leaving like two days later to go out west

[00:17:33] So we were just like yeah it's some right

[00:17:35] We you know we didn't know what Savage Mountain Punk Fest was going to turn into right right right

[00:17:39] You know so we were just kind of all like yeah whatever we'll play and there was a there was like

[00:17:44] Probably between 30 and 50 people there

[00:17:47] Yeah that's good watch us which was fucking cool

[00:17:49] And and what we were told is that pain had not even half the amount of people watching

[00:17:54] Even later in the evening which still like is it backfired on them but yeah yeah I don't know what is wrong with that dude

[00:18:04] Yeah you know we were friendly at one point

[00:18:10] I had been told things about him that he had done in the past

[00:18:14] I don't know if they're true or not but people who have told me some of the things that he has done in the past

[00:18:20] I wasn't there but right it sounds really shitty yeah like like putting on a show and collecting all the money at the door

[00:18:31] And fucking walking off and not paying anybody and keeping the money

[00:18:34] I have had several people told me that that was a thing that he did numerous times one of the reasons why he got a bad name and scenes I guess

[00:18:41] I don't know if that's true I'll just say that up but knowing him and and knowing some of the underhanded shit he's done it probably is true

[00:18:51] You can see it being true yeah

[00:18:53] I have no problem saying that now because I think pretty much everyone knows you don't book pain

[00:18:59] Yeah yeah

[00:19:00] There's so many fucking fans of theirs still to this day though that have no idea about the underhanded shit that motherfucker has done

[00:19:09] I don't know how many fans they actually have

[00:19:12] They do like in the in like the horror punk scene there are still a lot of people that really like them

[00:19:18] But outside of the horror punk scene everyone hates them not I shouldn't say them

[00:19:24] Yeah

[00:19:25] Him

[00:19:26] Yeah

[00:19:27] It's a new them every year it's like this is the only constant is to me

[00:19:32] Him and one other guy that was in that band for a while are very disliked and for good reasons

[00:19:38] Yeah

[00:19:39] Some of the other people that played in that band over the years I think get a little bit of unnecessary hate just because they were in that band

[00:19:45] They're associated

[00:19:46] There's a few other there's some good people that were in that band that left

[00:19:49] Yeah

[00:19:50] But Timmy and one other guy that were in that band I think get hate that is

[00:19:58] Justified

[00:20:00] Justified yeah

[00:20:01] I normally wouldn't talk shit about other bands no matter what but

[00:20:07] Right

[00:20:08] In this instance it's pretty fucking deserved I think

[00:20:12] Yeah

[00:20:13] Like you did this

[00:20:15] You did this yourself

[00:20:16] Exactly

[00:20:17] And I'm not sorry

[00:20:18] Yeah

[00:20:19] Are they I think they're are they back

[00:20:22] Yeah they are

[00:20:23] I saw the other day

[00:20:24] I saw a picture he posted

[00:20:26] I scrolled through fucking Facebook and saw some show at some weird place with a bunch of bands I've never fucking heard of

[00:20:32] Yeah

[00:20:33] Not around probably in Pennsylvania though it's usually out of state

[00:20:37] Yeah

[00:20:38] Nobody's gonna book them in Maryland or Virginia or DC

[00:20:41] No one

[00:20:42] At this point

[00:20:43] You'd be dumb

[00:20:44] Yeah

[00:20:45] That's crazy

[00:20:46] It's like it's like show suicide

[00:20:49] Yeah

[00:20:50] Yeah

[00:20:51] Promoter suicide

[00:20:52] Yes promoter suicide

[00:20:55] I mean it's pretty much the same thing as like booking Michael Graves at this point you know

[00:20:59] Yeah

[00:21:00] Yeah

[00:21:01] Last night was fun man it was a good time and of course the Dolly Rott's got to hang out with them again

[00:21:05] Yeah because they headlined last night right

[00:21:07] Yeah

[00:21:08] Yeah

[00:21:09] That's cool

[00:21:10] It's cool that they were able to jump on that show kind of like last minute

[00:21:13] Yeah

[00:21:14] Fill in for you know the band that was supposed to headline

[00:21:17] Right right

[00:21:18] I can't remember who it was but

[00:21:19] I forget to

[00:21:20] Some ska band I think

[00:21:21] Yeah something yeah

[00:21:23] But that but cool

[00:21:25] Did a bunch of people show up to see the Dolly Rott's

[00:21:27] Yeah yeah it was good it was it was well attended

[00:21:30] So Bree was going there today so we missed each other but

[00:21:35] She was heading there this morning

[00:21:37] Justin's there all weekend with Chris and his friend Hud

[00:21:41] Who else was there anybody

[00:21:43] They're not they're not playing right at all

[00:21:45] No no they're just hanging out yeah

[00:21:48] It's funny they went I guess they went record shopping today in Frostburg

[00:21:51] Because it's only like 10 minutes away from Frostburg

[00:21:53] And um

[00:21:54] There's a record store in Frostburg

[00:21:56] There is there's one it's near it's near Dante's actually

[00:21:59] No shit

[00:22:00] Yeah and

[00:22:01] How does Frostburg have a cool record store and Fredericksburg doesn't

[00:22:04] Fredericksburg doesn't have one

[00:22:05] Not one

[00:22:06] Oh wow Napolis even has one

[00:22:07] Not one

[00:22:08] There used to be a rad one here called Blue Dog but

[00:22:11] Yeah

[00:22:12] The internet crazed when like

[00:22:15] Yeah

[00:22:16] When that first happened killed Blue Dog

[00:22:19] It was the best record store

[00:22:21] Here oh man oh dude

[00:22:23] It sucks I still see the guy that owned it every once in a while

[00:22:26] He still lives around here his name's Jack

[00:22:28] Nice

[00:22:29] And he still remembers me to this day

[00:22:31] Even from when I was a teenager going in there and

[00:22:33] I would order records from there all the fucking time you know

[00:22:36] Yeah I was driving home this morning

[00:22:38] I get a text from Justin

[00:22:40] And it's it's a picture of uh

[00:22:42] It's it said uh

[00:22:44] Chris just got a free CD from this record store in Frostburg

[00:22:48] And he's holding up it was uh the ailments worst foot forward

[00:22:53] Yes

[00:22:54] That's cool though

[00:22:55] Yeah yeah yeah

[00:22:56] I was like I'm glad they're at least giving it out like

[00:22:58] Whatever I don't care

[00:23:00] How the fuck does Frostburg have a record

[00:23:02] I know it's it's

[00:23:05] Fredericksburg is too rich to have a record store

[00:23:09] Annapolis has one though

[00:23:11] We're yeah but we're part of Northern Virginia now

[00:23:13] Yeah

[00:23:14] The snooty the snooty has the snooty and the woke

[00:23:17] Yeah

[00:23:18] For lack of a better term have taken this fucking city over

[00:23:21] And um

[00:23:22] We can't even have a good fucking music venue

[00:23:25] The snooty and woke are almost

[00:23:27] Synonymous

[00:23:28] They coincide

[00:23:29] Yeah

[00:23:30] It doesn't which doesn't make any fucking sense

[00:23:32] It's true but it doesn't make any fucking sense to me

[00:23:35] At all

[00:23:36] Like these are the fucking people that were supposed to be fucking cool with everybody

[00:23:40] These are the people in the 90s and the early 2000s

[00:23:42] Right

[00:23:43] You know after like 9-11 that we were like

[00:23:45] Trying to fight back against like

[00:23:48] The right-wing people that were trying to fucking hold us down

[00:23:50] And force us to do things

[00:23:52] And now those are the fucking people that have taken this place over

[00:23:55] And are bitches about everything

[00:23:57] Noise oh noise oh the feud

[00:23:59] Oh the people that are serving me are fucking pieces of shit

[00:24:02] Yeah because you won't fucking pay them

[00:24:04] Yeah yeah yeah

[00:24:05] You motherfuckers like you guys were supposed to be the fucking cool ones

[00:24:08] And you've turned right into the fucking very thing you fucking hate

[00:24:11] Yeah they're the pearl clutchers now

[00:24:13] Oh it's so fucking annoying

[00:24:15] The woke left are the fucking worst people on the planet

[00:24:18] And you could suck my dick if you ever problem me saying that

[00:24:21] Dude

[00:24:22] I'm tired of sitting back and watching

[00:24:24] All of your bullshit posts on social media and having to bite my tongue

[00:24:27] You guys fucking suck

[00:24:29] You make everything worse

[00:24:31] Everything sucks when it's mixed with you guys

[00:24:34] Like fuck you for making me feel like

[00:24:37] I relate more

[00:24:39] To some fucking right-wing conservatives

[00:24:41] Like fuck you

[00:24:43] Like because then I turn around and look at those people

[00:24:46] And I'm like fuck why am I

[00:24:47] Why do I feel like I'm relating to some of your fucking values

[00:24:50] And then those motherfuckers immediately turned around

[00:24:53] After talking about free speech for fucking eons

[00:24:57] And then this whole Trump thing that happens

[00:24:59] And a bunch of people on the left are like oh they just missed

[00:25:02] And all the fucking people on the right are like

[00:25:05] Like sending death threats to these fucking people

[00:25:07] And I'm like freedom of fucking speech

[00:25:09] Fuck you too

[00:25:10] Fuck you

[00:25:11] Yeah yeah I know

[00:25:12] Fuck you for being hypocrites

[00:25:13] Freedom of speech means freedom of speech

[00:25:15] Fuck you for making me wanna feel related to you

[00:25:17] Fuck you

[00:25:18] I know

[00:25:19] Fuck both of you

[00:25:20] Both sides are

[00:25:21] Fuck both of you

[00:25:22] Yeah

[00:25:23] They both think that they're so righteous

[00:25:25] I know

[00:25:26] They're both the same people

[00:25:29] That's the funniest part

[00:25:30] Yeah

[00:25:31] Is that they're the same

[00:25:32] Just like what we talked about

[00:25:34] True Vi Brewery earlier

[00:25:36] Right yeah

[00:25:37] They do a thing where they have two beers

[00:25:40] One's called the Republican and one's called the Democrat

[00:25:42] Yeah

[00:25:43] And they just sit there and watch people argue over which beer is better

[00:25:46] It's the same beer

[00:25:47] Unpurposely

[00:25:48] They put the same beer in both cans and label it differently

[00:25:52] Just so they can see how fucking stupid you are

[00:25:57] Yeah

[00:25:58] I'd love it

[00:25:59] There is not a more perfect fucking brewery

[00:26:02] Right

[00:26:03] To put our fucking beer out than this fucking brewery

[00:26:05] Yeah yeah

[00:26:06] It's madness

[00:26:07] But you know that's the world we live in now

[00:26:09] Where everybody and it's social media

[00:26:12] Everybody has to be righteous and

[00:26:15] Everybody has to be cooler than the next person

[00:26:17] And be more outraged than the next person

[00:26:19] I just want to be fucking cool with people

[00:26:21] That's it

[00:26:22] That's all

[00:26:23] I just want to live in an existence where like

[00:26:26] I have a good time with everyone

[00:26:29] I don't give a fuck about your political preference

[00:26:31] Right

[00:26:32] Like why can I hang out with you for fucking four hours

[00:26:38] And we're totally fucking cool

[00:26:40] None of this shit ever fucking comes up

[00:26:42] Like we have a great fucking time

[00:26:44] And then as soon as I get home

[00:26:46] And I fucking click on fucking Facebook

[00:26:48] Or some other social media

[00:26:50] And I see the same person that I was just

[00:26:52] Having a great fucking time with

[00:26:54] Spewing some fucking just completely utterly terrible garbage on fucking social media

[00:27:00] And like and just creating all this fucking negativity

[00:27:04] In like cyberspace that is just so unnecessary

[00:27:07] Because it doesn't do anything other than

[00:27:12] Like formulate people's opinions

[00:27:16] This is going to be a really convoluted description here

[00:27:19] But like people that don't understand their own opinions

[00:27:23] Because they're taking on the opinions of a political party

[00:27:25] Or what some stupid motherfucker on TV

[00:27:28] That's paid to say something's opinion becomes their opinion

[00:27:31] Right

[00:27:33] And then just creating hate back at that person

[00:27:36] Because they have the different opinion

[00:27:38] Or the other side that is exactly the same thing that's happening

[00:27:42] Right

[00:27:43] Again an extremely convoluted description

[00:27:47] But I don't know really any other way to describe it

[00:27:51] And then I have to sit there and read this and just

[00:27:55] This is why I have trouble with social media

[00:27:58] I know

[00:27:59] I have it because of this podcast honestly now

[00:28:02] Like the band is you know way gone at this point

[00:28:06] Like I wish I could just get rid of Facebook

[00:28:09] I know

[00:28:10] Instagram and all that shit

[00:28:12] I really just I don't

[00:28:14] But like I would feel bad doing that

[00:28:16] Right

[00:28:17] In terms of this

[00:28:19] Yeah

[00:28:20] Because I feel like I wouldn't be doing any fucking any work at all

[00:28:23] Which

[00:28:24] Yeah

[00:28:25] I already feel like I don't do enough via social media

[00:28:28] And you know putting shit out there because of my disdain for it

[00:28:33] I know

[00:28:34] It's hard not to

[00:28:35] And the thing is it's that same

[00:28:37] The same thing that keeps you there

[00:28:39] Like for me it's also this podcast

[00:28:42] And you know being in a band and

[00:28:45] The same thing that makes you

[00:28:47] Need social media is the same thing that makes you

[00:28:51] Not voice your opinions on social media

[00:28:53] Because you don't want to

[00:28:54] You have to be on social media to promote your shit

[00:28:58] But if you

[00:28:59] Tell people how you really feel about certain things your shit will be

[00:29:03] Taken away

[00:29:04] Yeah and

[00:29:05] And I will tell you this right now

[00:29:08] The minute the second

[00:29:10] That social media platforms

[00:29:12] I eat Facebook Instagram the big ones

[00:29:17] I don't think X will go this direction

[00:29:19] But the second

[00:29:22] That those social media platforms

[00:29:25] Start making

[00:29:26] Entities like what we are doing

[00:29:29] Who are using those platforms essentially for free advertising

[00:29:32] Yeah

[00:29:33] Pay for that stuff

[00:29:34] I'm gone

[00:29:35] Oh yeah yeah

[00:29:36] I'm gone

[00:29:37] As soon as they're like no you have to pay to do this

[00:29:38] That's it I'm out

[00:29:39] Delete delete delete delete delete

[00:29:41] You'll never see me again

[00:29:42] Yeah

[00:29:43] Because fuck that

[00:29:44] That's bullshit

[00:29:45] I'm surprised it hasn't happened yet to be honest

[00:29:46] Me too

[00:29:47] And

[00:29:48] Because it's coming though

[00:29:49] I would definitely I would definitely bet on that it's coming

[00:29:53] Oh it's coming

[00:29:54] The same way that like streaming services i.e. Hulu

[00:29:57] Disney Plus

[00:29:58] Amazon Prime

[00:30:00] To pay for the basic services of those now

[00:30:04] They have ads

[00:30:05] Right

[00:30:06] Where it used to be the basic services of all those maybe except Amazon

[00:30:10] We're all free

[00:30:11] You could have those for free they just had ads

[00:30:15] Now you have to pay for that

[00:30:17] Yeah

[00:30:18] Which is crazy

[00:30:19] This is you know I told people this years ago

[00:30:22] I was like

[00:30:23] I got rid of cable you should too

[00:30:25] But

[00:30:26] Yeah

[00:30:27] Just know that the more people that get rid of fucking cable

[00:30:30] All these streaming services that you have to pay for are going to start turning into cable where they have ads

[00:30:35] Oh yeah

[00:30:36] You have to pay for different

[00:30:37] I called this fucking 10 12 years ago

[00:30:40] And here we are in 2024 now

[00:30:42] Like all the streaming services you have to pay a ridiculous amount of money for the ones that don't have ads

[00:30:47] Capitalism always wins

[00:30:49] Capitalism always wins

[00:30:51] Capitalism is undefeated

[00:30:54] I think

[00:30:56] I would change that statement a little bit

[00:30:59] To greed

[00:31:01] Instead of capitalism

[00:31:02] Yeah

[00:31:03] Capitalism is

[00:31:05] I've said this many times to you

[00:31:07] Capitalism is not the problem

[00:31:09] Communism is not the problem

[00:31:11] Socialism is not the problem

[00:31:13] It's the people that exercise

[00:31:15] Humans are the problem

[00:31:16] And figure out the fucking loopholes within those systems that are the fucking problem

[00:31:20] Yeah

[00:31:21] And as long as there are humans they will be that problem

[00:31:23] As long as there is humans there will be exploitation

[00:31:26] Yeah

[00:31:27] Because when people write the rules

[00:31:29] They never think of the loopholes

[00:31:32] There's always something that somebody figures out that's a loophole to exploit the system

[00:31:37] And then shit has to get changed a little bit

[00:31:39] It happened with religion

[00:31:40] It happens with economics

[00:31:42] It happens with everything

[00:31:43] People, humans are the fucking problem

[00:31:46] Yeah

[00:31:47] And you will never get rid of that problem

[00:31:49] All you social fucking warriors out there

[00:31:52] Who think you can get rid of those problems

[00:31:54] You are fucking wrong

[00:31:56] Right

[00:31:57] Because there is always

[00:31:58] I'm not saying it's not worth fighting

[00:32:00] Because if you don't fight then those fucking assholes will completely take over

[00:32:04] And that's where the problem is

[00:32:05] It's not

[00:32:06] But don't think you will ever correct this

[00:32:09] Yeah

[00:32:10] There is always someone who is going to exploit a loophole that you don't see

[00:32:16] Always

[00:32:17] It is a vicious fucking cycle

[00:32:19] And it will never end

[00:32:21] That is why we are living in the simulation hell

[00:32:25] Yes

[00:32:27] Bottom line is we're living in a simulation

[00:32:32] Yeah

[00:32:33] It's why I believe we live in hell

[00:32:34] The simulation is hell

[00:32:36] So to speak

[00:32:38] So to speak

[00:32:39] Because I don't really believe in hell

[00:32:41] Or heaven

[00:32:43] But I do believe in the simulation

[00:32:47] Oh yeah

[00:32:48] And maybe our energy gets put in the simulation to teach us a fucking lesson

[00:32:53] Because whatever our energy did somewhere else in the universe

[00:32:58] They were like

[00:33:00] You gotta go fucking be in this place for like whatever

[00:33:03] Your punishment is 60 to 90 years in the simulation

[00:33:07] Yeah

[00:33:08] And then we'll come out on the other side and see what's really going on

[00:33:11] Yeah

[00:33:12] I like that

[00:33:13] I think that's my new

[00:33:14] It's why

[00:33:15] We just created a new our brains hurt theory

[00:33:17] Oh, it's why we're taught as humans all over the world that suicide is evil

[00:33:23] Yeah

[00:33:24] Because they don't want you to take the easy way out of the simulation

[00:33:28] Yeah

[00:33:29] I'm telling you

[00:33:30] It's

[00:33:31] Yeah

[00:33:32] The our brains hurt

[00:33:34] The variation of the simulation theory

[00:33:36] I love it

[00:33:37] Yeah

[00:33:38] I'm gonna write a book

[00:33:40] You should

[00:33:42] You should

[00:33:43] So I could I could sum up the last 20 minutes of talking by just saying you're not woke

[00:33:48] You're annoying

[00:33:50] Which is my favorite sticker on my base

[00:33:56] But I still love you

[00:33:57] I still love you all my woke friends

[00:33:59] Yeah, same

[00:34:00] My wife who I decided to spend the rest of my life with is very woke liberal

[00:34:05] But what's what's funny about that?

[00:34:08] That term that has been created woke

[00:34:11] Which is which comes from hijacked

[00:34:13] Waking up to the reality of what the world actually is

[00:34:17] Right

[00:34:18] Has become the opinion of the neoliberal has become what is what we call woke

[00:34:25] Which is the exact fucking opposite

[00:34:28] Yeah, that's what I mean

[00:34:29] It started

[00:34:30] Like it's crazy how we as people change the definitions of words like so often

[00:34:36] And they now blatantly now blatantly

[00:34:38] Especially during covid to like fit certain narratives

[00:34:40] Like now if you look up like anti Vaxxer

[00:34:43] It's crazy

[00:34:44] See my fucking video just went off when I said anti Vaxxer

[00:34:47] Yeah

[00:34:49] They shut your video

[00:34:50] I didn't I'd even touch my computer dude

[00:34:52] I swear to God

[00:34:53] I believe you

[00:34:54] I'm gonna go grab a drink

[00:34:55] Oh, you're back

[00:34:57] Yeah, I'm back

[00:34:58] I figured it out

[00:34:59] So I'm gonna throw a shout out real quick

[00:35:01] Shout out Justin Seelig

[00:35:03] I'm about to pound this fucking twisted tea

[00:35:05] Those things are so good

[00:35:07] So good

[00:35:08] So good

[00:35:09] I know he's probably listening

[00:35:10] Yeah

[00:35:11] Yeah

[00:35:13] It's funny. He said that when I got there yesterday morning

[00:35:16] Yesterday afternoon, he was like, man, he's like they sold out of twisted teas

[00:35:20] I drank all of them last night

[00:35:22] And I was like, how many do you have?

[00:35:23] He's like only four

[00:35:24] They only had four

[00:35:25] They only had four

[00:35:26] They had four

[00:35:29] I love that he drinks twisted tea

[00:35:31] I used to drink them a lot

[00:35:34] They're scary because they will sneak up on you because they taste so good

[00:35:39] Well, for a person who has diabetic seizures

[00:35:43] It's crazy to me that he drinks something that's so sweet

[00:35:46] But he's the other kind of diabetic where he probably needs to drink sweet

[00:35:54] But yeah

[00:35:55] I have one of these every once in a while now

[00:35:57] Yeah

[00:35:58] Because I do enjoy them

[00:35:59] But I don't enjoy sugar

[00:36:01] I'm not a sugar person at all

[00:36:03] Like I really try to stay away from shit that has high fructose corn syrup in it

[00:36:09] But it's really hard to do that in America

[00:36:11] It is

[00:36:12] Everything has high fructose

[00:36:13] You know bread has fucking some there are some breads that have high fructose

[00:36:17] What are you doing in bread? High fructose corn syrup

[00:36:21] Do you know how many countries in the world that high fructose corn syrup as an ingredient in food is illegal in?

[00:36:26] No

[00:36:27] 42

[00:36:28] Jesus

[00:36:29] 42 countries in the world high fructose corn syrup is illegal to put in food

[00:36:34] You know the high fructose corn syrup conspiracy theory, right?

[00:36:38] Probably

[00:36:39] So apparently it comes from Japan and it came shortly after World War II

[00:36:44] And apparently it was Japan

[00:36:48] Their way to slowly poison us

[00:36:49] Trying to poison the rest of the world

[00:36:50] Yeah, well poison us specifically because they were a huge exporter to us

[00:36:57] Yeah

[00:36:58] Of the high fructose corn syrup

[00:36:59] I mean

[00:37:01] Which is a smart play

[00:37:02] Probably not true now

[00:37:04] But right after World War II

[00:37:05] I believe it

[00:37:06] For what the US did to the Japanese people during World War II

[00:37:11] I would fucking fully believe it back then

[00:37:13] Yeah

[00:37:14] We rounded up motherfuckers who were just Japanese

[00:37:19] Americans

[00:37:20] Who were born in this country

[00:37:21] Americans that didn't even have accents

[00:37:23] And put them in internment camps

[00:37:25] Yeah

[00:37:26] And left them there for years just because of how they fucking looked

[00:37:30] Had nothing to do with people that were born in the US

[00:37:33] It was fucked up

[00:37:35] That was fucked up

[00:37:36] Yeah

[00:37:37] Good job United States government back then

[00:37:39] Good job

[00:37:40] I was a liberal president I might point out by the way

[00:37:43] Pfft

[00:37:46] Good job United States

[00:37:48] That was not Nixon or Ronald Reagan

[00:37:50] Every

[00:37:51] Every

[00:37:54] I love how people love Reagan so much

[00:37:56] Like Reagan just fucking

[00:37:58] Yeah

[00:37:59] Motherfucker was an actor

[00:38:01] He was an actor

[00:38:03] An actor

[00:38:04] To be honest I'd rather have any other

[00:38:07] I would rather have any politician come from anywhere besides politics

[00:38:12] I mean

[00:38:14] Yeah that's fair

[00:38:16] That is fair

[00:38:18] You know what I mean

[00:38:19] Because nothing is sleazier than a lifelong politician

[00:38:21] I mean I say that actor but like

[00:38:24] Remember when Schwarzenegger

[00:38:26] I think you just

[00:38:27] Did you just say something about Schwarzenegger

[00:38:29] Yeah I was living in California when he was the governor

[00:38:31] Yeah

[00:38:32] People fucking loved him

[00:38:33] Yeah

[00:38:34] Everybody was fucking like furious when he won that election

[00:38:39] And then the time that he spent as governor in California

[00:38:43] I think even a lot of the liberals

[00:38:45] Grew to really like him

[00:38:47] He probably was the best governor that California has ever fucking had

[00:38:51] Definitely in our lifetime

[00:38:53] I'm not saying he was perfect

[00:38:55] Right

[00:38:56] You know nobody is

[00:38:57] I mean definitely compared to what they have now

[00:38:59] I mean it's like a fucking

[00:39:01] I think it's pretty clear

[00:39:03] What's going on in California right now

[00:39:05] Like

[00:39:06] Yeah

[00:39:07] Mass exodus of fucking people

[00:39:09] Right

[00:39:10] Massive exodus of fucking people

[00:39:12] And I'm not just talking about the right wing people

[00:39:14] There was a lot of left wing people

[00:39:16] A lot of left wing people that left too

[00:39:18] Yeah

[00:39:19] A lot

[00:39:20] Yep

[00:39:21] It is very hard for a lot of the people that are

[00:39:24] That stayed in California that couldn't afford to move

[00:39:26] It is very hard right now

[00:39:28] I have

[00:39:29] I have a lot of friends who

[00:39:31] Yeah my brother

[00:39:32] Who are not right wing

[00:39:34] Who are left wing

[00:39:35] Who have voiced their opinion to me about how hard it is living in California

[00:39:39] Oh yeah yeah

[00:39:40] You know I mean there's a lot of people who like it

[00:39:42] I mean it's a beautiful fucking place

[00:39:45] Yeah there's a lot of people who love still living there

[00:39:47] They make a lot of money and they pay a lot of money

[00:39:50] To fucking live there and they love it

[00:39:52] And cool

[00:39:53] If you're into that

[00:39:55] Then fucking cool

[00:39:57] You know

[00:39:58] Yeah I mean LA is one of my favorite places on the planet

[00:40:00] I could never live there

[00:40:01] But I love visiting

[00:40:03] I love visiting LA

[00:40:04] I can't live in a big city

[00:40:06] Yeah

[00:40:07] I love visiting big cities and having a good time there

[00:40:10] I love it

[00:40:11] I don't know how people do that shit

[00:40:14] Yeah

[00:40:15] I just don't

[00:40:17] I mean I do live in a city

[00:40:19] But it's a small city

[00:40:20] Right right right

[00:40:21] And that's you know

[00:40:23] I like small city neighborhoods

[00:40:26] You know

[00:40:27] Not in the suburbs

[00:40:28] I'm in a city neighborhood with houses

[00:40:31] They're all close together

[00:40:33] My neighbors are very fucking close to me

[00:40:35] But like

[00:40:37] Not as close as yours

[00:40:38] You live in a townhouse

[00:40:39] Yeah I live in a townhouse

[00:40:41] I lived in a townhouse only one time in my life

[00:40:44] And I fucking hated it

[00:40:46] I know I want

[00:40:47] My dream is to not be able to see my neighbors

[00:40:50] I was looking at

[00:40:52] So the Mets are in the wild card spot right now

[00:40:55] Let's go Mets

[00:40:56] Because Jerry and I were talking Mets yesterday

[00:40:58] Boo

[00:40:59] Because Jerry's a big

[00:41:00] And I found

[00:41:02] You guys got a good trade piece from us actually

[00:41:06] From the Mets

[00:41:07] Who?

[00:41:08] Jesse Winker

[00:41:09] Oh okay

[00:41:10] What was that?

[00:41:11] Right at the deadline

[00:41:12] Okay

[00:41:13] A couple weeks ago

[00:41:14] Okay

[00:41:15] Yeah Winker yeah

[00:41:16] We gave Winker to you guys for like

[00:41:19] A few prospects

[00:41:20] Which is crazy

[00:41:21] Because Winker was just like a cheap one year deal signing

[00:41:23] And he killed it this year for us

[00:41:25] Okay

[00:41:26] Yeah

[00:41:27] Yeah so he didn't even play a full season for us

[00:41:29] But he I think he's either

[00:41:33] He either immediately got slotted as your guys DH or left field

[00:41:36] One of the two

[00:41:39] Gotcha

[00:41:40] Yeah

[00:41:41] I found our

[00:41:42] Left handed hitter

[00:41:44] We did the major league baseball predictions with Travis earlier this year

[00:41:49] And I was just glancing at him

[00:41:50] Like just so off

[00:41:51] Mine is bad

[00:41:52] I said the Marlins

[00:41:54] I said the Marlins were going to win the division

[00:41:56] They're so bad this year

[00:41:58] Well you have the Orioles over the Reds in the World Series

[00:42:01] The Reds aren't getting to the World Series

[00:42:03] No

[00:42:04] No the Reds

[00:42:05] They're not making the play

[00:42:06] The Reds and the Marlins after last season the progress they made

[00:42:09] Were going to both just be powerhouses this year

[00:42:11] I could not have been more wrong

[00:42:13] They both just completely regressed

[00:42:15] Completely

[00:42:16] I don't know what happened to the fucking Reds

[00:42:18] God the Marlins I get

[00:42:19] Yeah

[00:42:20] I know what happened to them but the Reds

[00:42:21] What the fuck went down there

[00:42:23] Like

[00:42:24] But the O's I might be right on

[00:42:26] They're

[00:42:27] I have the O's over the Braves in the World Series

[00:42:30] Which could happen but that would be bad for the Mets

[00:42:32] Because that would mean the Mets

[00:42:33] The Braves aren't that good though

[00:42:35] They're only a half game out of the wild card

[00:42:38] But yeah they're not going to get into the World Series

[00:42:40] Yeah the Phillies are just the powerhouse of the NFC East

[00:42:44] They're too good

[00:42:46] I hate them

[00:42:47] Me too

[00:42:48] All Mets fans have AIDS

[00:42:50] Yes

[00:42:54] Exposing our secrets like that you fucking Phillies fan

[00:42:57] Cool

[00:43:00] Word dude

[00:43:01] Alright man I will talk to you next week

[00:43:03] Alright brother

[00:43:04] Alright later

[00:43:05] Later

[00:43:07] How do I do this shit

[00:43:08] I can still hear you

[00:43:10] Alright so where do I have to press

[00:43:13] Close
