[00:01:27] [SPEAKER_02]: You ever make your food like way too spicy that you can't even eat it?

[00:01:30] [SPEAKER_03]: I have done that before, yes. It's not as bad as when you make your food way too salty.

[00:01:36] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, that's true. If it's too spicy, you can still muscle through. But if it's too salty, you just can't.

[00:01:43] [SPEAKER_03]: It's not happening. Only a few times in my life that's happened.

[00:01:49] [SPEAKER_02]: I am a salt fanatic. I want to get one of those Salt Life stickers just because I love salt and it has something to do with the ocean.

[00:01:57] [SPEAKER_02]: And I want to get 12 of them on the back of my car because I put salt on fucking everything.

[00:02:01] [SPEAKER_02]: Is it Salt Life or is it Slut Life?

[00:02:05] [SPEAKER_02]: So for me to make something too salty, it's happened before but I have to accidentally dump the entire salt shaker in my shit to make it too salty.

[00:02:14] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, and that's basically what I'm talking about. And it really sucks when it happens.

[00:02:21] [SPEAKER_03]: Because you immediately know the first bite you're like, oh this is too salty. This cannot be consumed by humans.

[00:02:27] [SPEAKER_03]: Right. And you can't do anything about it.

[00:02:30] [SPEAKER_03]: Nothing. Potentially add sugar. Apparently adding sugar works.

[00:02:35] [SPEAKER_03]: Does it count?

[00:02:35] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, but then you're like getting an overload of salt and sugar which is probably not good for anyone.

[00:02:44] [SPEAKER_02]: Not recommended. Yeah. Well, it is the day after the first week of the football season and I will say that my expectations of the Jets have cooled drastically.

[00:02:55] [SPEAKER_03]: I wouldn't say. I mean, every fan of a team that's been bad for a long time, I know because I'm one.

[00:03:08] [SPEAKER_03]: I think their expectations even if your expectations are even like, hey, we're going to go eight and nine this season or seven and ten or whatever it was before it was 17 games.

[00:03:20] [SPEAKER_03]: You know, I think they're always unreal because you want your team to do well. Yeah.

[00:03:26] [SPEAKER_03]: And there's part of you that, you know, especially if you study the teams sees all the good stuff.

[00:03:33] [SPEAKER_03]: Right after one game over a lifetime of watching football, especially the first game of the season and especially over the last five years.

[00:03:43] [SPEAKER_03]: I think you have to temper your expectations after you watch one game. Yeah, because game one for most teams in this era is fucking horrid.

[00:03:53] [SPEAKER_02]: It's like the last it's like the third preseason game basically what it used to be because you're not they're not playing at all.

[00:03:58] [SPEAKER_01]: Preseason. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yes.

[00:04:02] [SPEAKER_03]: But with starters who haven't gelled really yet. Yeah.

[00:04:07] [SPEAKER_03]: And if you, you know, and the random team that does have an offense or defense that is gelling at that point because it can happen, tend to dominate in that week one.

[00:04:20] [SPEAKER_03]: I saw a lot of good things from you, Jetson that game.

[00:04:22] [SPEAKER_02]: They had I watched the first half. I went to bed at halftime because I had to wake up at four.

[00:04:26] [SPEAKER_02]: But I also I could tell where the game was going at that point. But that first quarter, they look great.

[00:04:31] [SPEAKER_02]: They had that one really good drive.

[00:04:33] [SPEAKER_02]: Garrett Wilson's awesome. Garrett Wilson is great. He's going to be an awesome. Yeah, I'm excited to see him and as long as Roger stay healthy.

[00:04:40] [SPEAKER_02]: That's gonna be a cool duo throughout the season. Alan Lazard is only good when Aaron Rodgers is throwing to him.

[00:04:47] [SPEAKER_03]: Very apparent.

[00:04:51] [SPEAKER_03]: Because he's for some reason he's amazing when Aaron Rodgers is throwing to him. Yeah.

[00:04:56] [SPEAKER_03]: I don't know how that works. That is weird. It makes me question a lot of things within the NFL.

[00:05:05] [SPEAKER_02]: What are you drinking?

[00:05:07] [SPEAKER_03]: It's just actually vodka on ice with a lime wedge. Oh, nice.

[00:05:12] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it was a neat, refreshing drink.

[00:05:16] [SPEAKER_03]: I was gifted a very ginormous bottle of vodka from someone I did an electrical job for.

[00:05:40] [SPEAKER_03]: Oh, my football picks football picks. Well, I have the well, I was going to say the the distinction of seeing week one.

[00:05:53] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, but I don't know if that helps actually. Yeah, it probably doesn't because of what I just said.

[00:05:58] [SPEAKER_03]: Some of the most teams aren't firing on all cylinders. Right.

[00:06:04] [SPEAKER_02]: So the way Travis and I did it was we picked the winner and loser in every division.

[00:06:12] [SPEAKER_02]: And then we pick the seven playoff teams for each conference and then the conference championship game for each conference on the Super Bowl.

[00:06:22] [SPEAKER_02]: I'll start with the AFC East. I'm going to tell you our pick. So, OK, AFC East traffic pick Travis pick the Dolphins to win in the Pats to lose.

[00:06:29] [SPEAKER_02]: I pick the Jets to win in the Pats to lose. What say you?

[00:06:34] [SPEAKER_03]: Bills to win, Pats to lose. OK.

[00:06:38] [SPEAKER_03]: That shouldn't surprise anybody who listens to this podcast.

[00:06:43] [SPEAKER_02]: But AFC North, we both picked the Ravens to win it and the Steelers to lose it.

[00:06:48] [SPEAKER_02]: Oh, wow. The Steelers. This is where week one will help because I would say the Browns are probably going to lose it.

[00:06:55] [SPEAKER_02]: Although the Bengals shit the bed against the fucking Patriots, Bengals looked fucking terrible.

[00:07:04] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, like I was listening to a guy this morning talk about.

[00:07:10] [SPEAKER_03]: And this is like an ex quarterback that used to play in the NFL. Yeah, like, you know, it's like career second string or third.

[00:07:17] [SPEAKER_03]: And he was talking about that, too. He was like because he was breaking down Jaden Daniels from the commanders.

[00:07:23] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. He was like. He was like, I swear, if you put Jaden Daniels in Joe Burrow spot on that team that the Bengals probably would have tore it up.

[00:07:33] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, because he was like, well, it didn't look good. No, he was like the Bengals offense looked OK.

[00:07:40] [SPEAKER_03]: It was Burrow that didn't look good. Yeah. And he was like the commander's offense looked terrible, but it was Daniels that looks good.

[00:07:48] [SPEAKER_02]: I was like, interesting. I think Daniels is going to be the quarterback that you guys thought RG three was going to be.

[00:07:54] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. Yeah, I think I think you have well, RG three not made a glass in Jaden Daniels.

[00:08:02] [SPEAKER_02]: I think you have something for I think it's I liked what I saw. I'll say that.

[00:08:08] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, he did. He took what Tampa gave him and he and he only and he only had like he really only had like three or four mistakes in that game.

[00:08:17] [SPEAKER_03]: It was a great first game I thought for a rookie. I mean, yeah, yeah. Look at Bo Nix and Caleb Williams, two of Jaden Daniels passes.

[00:08:26] [SPEAKER_03]: The receiver got tackled at the one yard line right before scoring a touchdown.

[00:08:30] [SPEAKER_03]: Those were his two touchdown runs and he missed Terry McLaurin for what would have been a 70 yard touchdown McLaurin was wide open.

[00:08:39] [SPEAKER_03]: He overthrew him by about a fucking yard and a half or two yards or whatever.

[00:08:44] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, both those guys end up in the end zone. He hits McLaurin for that touchdown.

[00:08:49] [SPEAKER_03]: He's sitting at like 250 some yards with three touchdowns. Right.

[00:08:56] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I think I enjoyed watching that watching him. So I think it's not a it's not a terrible game for a rookie quarterback in their first game.

[00:09:06] [SPEAKER_03]: No, not at all because I don't think you could say the same thing about Bo Nix or Caleb Williams.

[00:09:12] [SPEAKER_03]: I think those were the only three rookies that played yesterday back to the the Browns and I think it's going to win the North.

[00:09:22] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, man. I can't pick the Steelers to lose that division because yeah, even as as bad as they look on paper right now.

[00:09:34] [SPEAKER_03]: Mike Tomlin has never had a losing record his entire career.

[00:09:38] [SPEAKER_03]: So I pick Ravens to win Browns to lose.

[00:09:44] [SPEAKER_03]: Okay, I can't pick the Steelers for that. Yeah, Mike Tomlin is just too good of a coach to allow that team and I have to imagine if they stick with Fields, he's going to learn as he moves forward.

[00:09:55] [SPEAKER_02]: You know, right. AFC South we had the same picks again. We both picked the Texans to win the Titans to lose.

[00:10:03] [SPEAKER_03]: I am not going to pick the Titans to lose that division. Okay.

[00:10:07] [SPEAKER_03]: Will Levis looks good.

[00:10:09] [SPEAKER_02]: I didn't watch him at all. He did look good. He did look good. Okay. Yeah, I liked him a lot of Kentucky.

[00:10:14] [SPEAKER_03]: I mean, I've saw him live a couple times so I did not think that he was going to pan out for the quarterback.

[00:10:20] [SPEAKER_03]: But like, I think he's gonna okay. They get a few games last captain too. Yes, he is. He did get voted captain. He looked good.

[00:10:28] [SPEAKER_03]: Good for him. Yeah. Yeah, I agree. You picked you both picked the Texans to win Titans to lose.

[00:10:37] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, Texans Titans Colts and Jacksonville. Right. Yeah.

[00:10:44] [SPEAKER_02]: You don't think the Titans are the worst out of those four. No. Okay.

[00:10:50] [SPEAKER_03]: And I'm going to go off key here a little bit. I'm going to pick the Jaguars to win that division. All right.

[00:10:57] [SPEAKER_03]: And I'm going to pick the Colts to lose it. I think the Titans are better than people think they are.

[00:11:02] [SPEAKER_03]: I could be wrong on that, but that's why they play the games.

[00:11:06] [SPEAKER_02]: Mm hmm. All right. So for AFC West, we both again have the Chiefs winning and the Broncos losing.

[00:11:12] [SPEAKER_02]: I probably will have that similarly. It's hard to not pick those two. The Chiefs are definitely going to win that division.

[00:11:21] [SPEAKER_03]: Man, although the Raiders could lose it. Yeah, they could.

[00:11:25] [SPEAKER_03]: I mean, Bo Nicks looked really good for the Broncos in the preseason. His game yesterday.

[00:11:32] [SPEAKER_03]: I mean, the stats make him definitely look like the worst of the three rookie quarterbacks.

[00:11:38] [SPEAKER_03]: But I don't think that's going to happen every week. Who was the first quarterback picked?

[00:11:45] [SPEAKER_02]: Caleb Williams. Okay. We're all to the Bears. Okay. Gotcha. And then it was. And then Jaden was the second one.

[00:11:50] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, somehow the Bears won yesterday. Caleb looked terrible. Yeah, but he didn't turn the ball over.

[00:11:57] [SPEAKER_03]: I think he didn't throw a pick. He might have fumbled it. Okay.

[00:12:02] [SPEAKER_03]: I think he may have lost a fumble. Yeah, he looked lost at times.

[00:12:07] [SPEAKER_03]: I mean, Nicks, he threw the ball 42 times in his first game as a rookie quarterback as being like that's crazy.

[00:12:14] [SPEAKER_03]: But he was like the fourth quarterback taken off the board. That's confidence from the coach right there.

[00:12:19] [SPEAKER_03]: Sean Payton. Well, Sean Payton's a quarterback. I cannot imagine Payton's been praising this guy since they drafted him.

[00:12:28] [SPEAKER_03]: I think even before they drafted them, they got their guy. That's who they wanted. Yeah.

[00:12:33] [SPEAKER_03]: I can't imagine he doesn't progress. The dude looked really good in the preseason. Yeah.

[00:19:47] [SPEAKER_03]: Eventually working his way up to offensive coordinator.

[00:19:51] [SPEAKER_03]: And the worst thing that happened when Ron Rivera took over the team

[00:19:55] [SPEAKER_03]: is firing Kevin O'Connell.
