[00:00:00] What is going on everyone welcome to another episode of our brains hurt. Thank you so much for hanging out a Couple of announcements you've heard them in the past few shows, but I'm gonna say them again

[00:00:08] We have some shows coming up July 6th, which is only two weeks from now at the pie shop in DC diesel boy Playing with American television over our eyes and 40 reps. It's going to be a rad show Go to pie shop DC com for tickets

[00:00:25] And then two weeks later July 24th at Atlas Brew Works in DC The dolly rats. I hope Kelly's okay She fell on stage the first night of her tour and had to get 15 stitches or any it looked pretty gnarly, but I heard she's still

[00:00:38] Killing it so the dolly rats with Saraya and DC's very own curse words. That's July 24th at Atlas Brew Works August 24th at the pie shop. We were having another show with 40 reps and more info to come on that one September 21st at Truvelle brewery in Haymarket, Virginia

[00:00:58] We are releasing our our brains hurt Coffee oatmeal stout beer. We're having a release party and a release show. We're doing a podcast live And having three bands play More info on those bands as it comes in but that's September 21st

[00:01:16] It's going to be a late afternoon early evening event. It's a Saturday So, you know come on out and then also we can't forget that on October 13th at the pie shop in DC It's October. It's near Halloween. It's Blitzkid Cripp keeper 5 horrorwood ending

[00:01:34] Keep all those dates in mind again. That's July 6th July 24th August 24th September 21st October 13 now Let's get to the motherfuckin show It's really nice and we finally gave in and we said all right all right you a song

[00:02:01] But it's gonna be a clone of a screeching whistle song that we heard a while ago So we wrote them a jingle and it sounded really great. It was the dance little jingle that their pockets never had

[00:02:10] But the file got corrupted and the name of it would never step without a jingle saying our brain turn Our brain turn our brain turn our brain turn Our brain turn our brain turn our brain turn Our brain turn our brain turn our brain turn

[00:02:30] Our brain turn our brain turn our brain turn Our brain turn Get a very non-copyright infringing sort of way Yo, what up man? I see you are joining the Miller light side I only did that for you con Yeah, but there it is right there I see it

[00:02:54] It's like seltzer Yeah, beer flavored seltzer Like you saying man you got to hydrate Speaking of which This is something I gotta talk about We were at the store earlier getting shit together for our camping trip this weekend Then I went to go get a case of beer

[00:03:17] And right next to the regular Miller lights 24 packs they had Miller ultralight Which is like Is there any alcohol in this? 2.8% What the fuck? It's like Miller ultralight 64s or something I don't know what the 64 is for Is that how many calories it is?

[00:03:45] Oh yeah, that's how many calories that's what it was Yeah, I was just laughing What's the point? I don't know I thought 4.2s were low enough Is that what this is 4.2? Yeah All light beer, this regular light beer for like Across the board is 4.2% Okay

[00:04:06] Well tonight we're talking to the follow ups Yeah Canadian Hey Canadians But Canadians finest Yes Tyler from the follow ups plays bass on Lesser creatures Yeah, lesser creatures Nick Spoons man Yeah, or at least he did on the most recent record I don't know

[00:04:28] They have a song that I really like called The Chain Song Like chain song but it's chain song It's a good song I love it They have a song called Nancy Pelosi which I've found Humors Is it about how her marriage is clearly for convenience

[00:04:49] Because her husband that loves her so much and definitely Definitely is not gay Definitely is not gay It just happens to be the Fucking one of the best stockbrokers on the face of the planet And He's just lucky

[00:05:06] Her and him have done better in the stock market than the S&P 500 for like I think five years in a row now Yes Yeah, that seems totally legit He's as lucky as he loves as much as he loves pussy Yeah

[00:05:22] Definitely not a marriage of convenience to make them both rich Definitely not Hey Hey Ooh nice shirt Fuck yeah, nice shirt dude Yeah Thanks for adding me on Instagram because it totally reminded me about this I had completely forgot No it's all good

[00:05:42] And then I saw that Ron added me on Instagram I was like, ah fuck shit 20 minutes Sometimes it happens to me too Yeah, it happens to me with everything We're the worst band ever because of my fucking retardedness Yeah, I need a punk rocker

[00:06:05] Yeah, that's what we do Punk rock Yeah Just blame everything on punk rock Yeah, blame it on punk Yeah, it's easy We're late, we smell, whatever Yeah, exactly, we don't shower punk rock You only shower on Wednesdays and Saturdays I learned that Those are shower days

[00:06:25] That's right, yeah See, don't tell me I didn't learn anything from punk rock growing up That's right It was scary when we were learning life lessons from Fat Mike It is terrifying We'll hang out until Mike comes on Yeah, yeah, who knows when that will be

[00:06:49] I'm sorta out work right now Are you in a truck? Actually yeah, yeah, like a big truck Oh damn, that's like a fucking legit truck Yeah, my family owns a carnival Like a traveling carnival No shit

[00:07:02] That's what I do all summer, so we take a look at the shit Oh my god Dude, that's fucking badass Yeah, so like right now we're probably on the verge of closing So I might have to run off just to change some generators over real quick

[00:07:17] And then I'll be right back with you This is why, I just have so much going on all the time It's fucking stupid, right So you guys are carnies Yeah, I'm a carnie, the other guy's not He's like a vet guy Sell dog food Carnie's way cooler

[00:07:37] Yeah it is Yeah, why don't you guys take turns and give an introduction of what you do in the band And then we'll get into it You start, Tyler My name's Mike Tyler holds a doll knife in my back

[00:07:54] Or I don't do stuff like make up music and songs I'm Tyler and I try to make Mike Kaiser famous for writing songs Nice So Mike are you the songwriter? Yeah Who's the guitarist? Both of them Yeah, I'm the good one, he's the bad one Alright cool

[00:08:17] But Tyler you played bass on Nick's Nick Spoon's record Yeah I did actually Kaiser's actually the better bass player But he doesn't play bass in this band But yeah, I thought I'd give my try playing bass anyway and lesser creatures And sort of turn it into a bass

[00:08:38] Yeah, Nick's awesome Yeah he is How'd you get hooked up with him? Actually through a different podcast My friend Nick Noe and Scott Parente Had an ambivalence podcast Hey that again It was an ambivalence podcast Okay That podcast that Nick and Scott had

[00:09:05] But he had Nick and I on a couple times together And we just became friends that way No podcasts always bringing people together Yeah look at this You guys are in Moncton? Yes, Moncton Or however Nick pronounced it When you had him on Moncton or something

[00:09:31] I thought it was a transformer I don't live there, thanks fuck None of us are actually there right now Nice and that's like, I didn't realize how much When you said it's 9pm your time I was like what the fuck I forget how much East Canada goes

[00:09:47] Over the past United States We're much further in the future You are, yeah For some things, for others not so much Just time zones That's about it Where'd you guys grow up? I lived in Nova Scotia all my life Tyler got older in Ontario

[00:10:08] Yeah, I grew up in Ontario What kind of if any punk scenes were there And how did you guys get into punk rock for the first time Like what were some of the bands you heard

[00:10:20] And how did you hear them and what made you fall in love with it We're just the right old that When we were young impressionable teams There was actually a pretty slurshing music scene Down here in Atlanta, Canada There were a couple of bands that were getting

[00:10:35] Some attention around the sub pop era Eric's trip in the Minoxides And Sloane's from down this way So there was some attention on the Atlantic Canadian music scene And as it is whenever that happens There was a flurry of young bands that all started up

[00:10:51] So there was a really great scene when we were young Not so much now But it's actually kind of on the upswing again I find things are coming back a little bit When we first started playing We played some lonely empty echoey hoff Yeah And many of them

[00:11:10] Yeah, yeah It happens like that sometimes That's kind of how it is here too in the mid-Atlantic It was awesome in the 90s early 2000s Then it kind of died and now it's kind of like a A slight heartbeat again Yep We're just hearing the torch smong enough

[00:11:27] Until we die off And then hopefully someone will benefit from it in the future Tyler what about you I grew up outside of Toronto So it was a pretty decent scene We had like Daglow used to come through all the time

[00:11:42] It was a band that I really loved, Dirty Bird They were from Toronto They were like a crusty, funky funk band And there was other skate bands like Youth in Asia Was around and yeah they were from Brantford Which was like 15 minutes from where I live

[00:12:00] How'd you guys get introduced to punk? I always find that punk has to be kind of found Whether it's like an older sibling Or a weird friend you have or something Who brought you to that first show

[00:12:14] It kind of finds you and I think you kind of find it at the same time Like I was always a little bit broken ahead And left of centre and liked things That didn't quite align with what most other people liked

[00:12:25] So of course being a kid of the 80s That translated into a lot of heavy metal And glam rock and stuff But I was gravitated more towards the harder glam bands Like LA Guns and Faster Pussycat and that sort of stuff

[00:12:40] Actually had a big resurgence of that within the last year So I fell right back in love with all that sleazy LA strip rock from the 80s But from there it was just sort of I was already into like the heavier and faster and more aggressive music

[00:12:55] And then actually oddly enough The very first punk band I ever heard was the Pistol But the first song I heard was friggin' in the rigging off the Rock and Roll Swindle soundtrack So my friend introduced me, showed me it in like grade six

[00:13:11] And he was like, yeah this is the Sex Pistols And I was aware of them and knew of them And they were supposed to be this bad punk band And then he played me like the intro part of Friggin' in the Riggin

[00:13:20] And man I didn't get it, like at all So Sex Pistols before Ramones Yeah, yeah and I'd probably say I'd still go with that one Okay, gotcha When you look at the quantity of material put out And the length and lifespan of those bands

[00:13:37] And they both have a pretty equal impact on the history of punk rock Like that's quite an accomplishment for a band that was only together You know two years versus Ramones had quite a lengthy career in catalogs

[00:13:50] So it's just my not in any way humble opinion about it Gotcha, yeah That is true though The Sex Pistols have had a very large impact on Not just the punk rock scene but I mean society in general

[00:14:08] And they were all around for a very short period of time Yeah, they literally changed Well and John's still an old codger or anything He never really changed Yeah, which is rad, yeah it's totally Jesus Christ, I just realized there's two of you guys Holy fuck man

[00:14:24] Well man, I'm sorry man Is it the zoom just shows you who's talking to you or whatever? Is that how it's going? No man, I'm just fucking stunned I was having a sleep in Pilar Tech to me He's like we have this thing I was like oh no

[00:14:51] I was like I'm just gonna go and download the zoom app That ends before we sign in So yeah, that's where I'm at I'm only good at sign management That's why I just write the songs And I told you guys a long time ago

[00:15:05] Like I cannot be responsible for anything else I'll bring the music And other than that just tell me where I need to be There you go I did like a week ago And he still weren't there Idiot He said it would work

[00:16:20] What was, you remember the first punk rock show you ever went to? When I was younger it was like that sort of like It was in the height of the Nerboot at Grunsteys So there was a lot of sort of crossover Focused alternative-ish bands So probably like

[00:16:37] The first notable band I would say That I remember seeing as a band out of Toronto called Sucker Punch They were sort of a rockabilly punk band They weren't around for long but they were a really really great band So that was an impactful show

[00:16:53] In terms of like actual punk bands I don't know Did I ever saw anybody decent like outside of bands that my bands played with It wasn't when we were young like You know the no-effects isn't the bad religions and shit Didn't really come around that often Yeah

[00:17:11] Or when they did I missed it for whatever reason Right Tyler what about you? I think when I was like 15 or 16 I happened to catch like Warp Tour in 97 Okay Growing up around the Toronto area It was London, Ontario I got to see like the descendants and

[00:17:32] Lagwagon, Pennywise Yeah so Back when the Warp Tour was rad I caught it like 97 and 98 And then I never went to another one after I remember seeing like the Flyers Like the later like the early 2000s And I remember there was one year where I looked at it

[00:17:50] And I was like I don't know one fucking band on this entire line It got super lame for a little while Actually I caught a Queer's High Five show Right around the height of the lookout area That came to me from

[00:18:06] And the funny thing is I ran into Fucking Joe King like six or seven years ago They happened to be playing in Montreal And I was just walking past him and Sandboyed a little bit And I was like man I saw you guys at this show

[00:18:19] In Riverview and he was like oh yeah we played here With this band and like just instantly knew What show I was talking about Which like fucking blew my mind right That's how he is Like shows every year all over the world

[00:18:31] And like knew instantly what one I was talking about Was kind of crazy Yeah his episode we had him on He was like a little old in September And Joe Queer was like one of our first Maybe first five Maybe like fifth or fourth episode That sounds right

[00:18:47] And he still has the record I think it took me 20 hours to edit that episode Because he talked And talked And it was like four or five It was great But it was like man he's like It's like talking to like You know in Psychopedia Britannica

[00:19:05] He has talked so much about everything To say I don't think he can forget things No he can't He remembers everything He's just so cool and like you know whatever I'm the exact opposite of that I just forget everything I know nothing and I hate talking

[00:19:26] He's not cool and he can't talk Yeah Pretty much yeah Yeah I remember like the first punk show I ever went to was I was a junior or a sophomore in high school And it was in somebody's basement In our neighborhood And it was a band

[00:19:48] Called a band called plunger And a band called Webster And I know those dudes from I knew those dudes from high school And I remember being in that basement With like maybe 25, 30 other people And just being like wow like Like I could do that

[00:20:04] Like I could grab a bass And I could play this music And it was so fucking cool that it was like so Accessible and so doable And like I was just like I was hooked Like right then I was like this is the shit

[00:20:17] This is what I want Yeah growing up listening to the metal And that right I was a kid I was like I'm gonna play guitar once I'm good enough I'll get into a band right And then like I was like oh shit I can already do this

[00:20:29] So then there was local bands I remember the first punk show I ever went to On my own or whatever It was actually no effect show But it was like as soon as they started playing They were on tour for heavy petting zoo

[00:20:41] They started throwing inflatable fuckable sheep Into the place And I immediately was like oh this is for me Yeah No comment Punk rock right Yep Well talk about the new record You have a new record coming out in two weeks A lot of the record is about

[00:21:03] The window in my neighborhood That he doesn't fucking approve of He's unsure whether he likes these people Pulling into their own yard or not I have two beagles and they do the same thing All day they sit in the window Yeah except more like

[00:21:19] You what I got Dan would you owe beagles Anyway I actually I do vet medicine stuff As a career so I'm an animal guy so I know the beagles well But yeah so anyway You know that damn long time coming out Most of the songs were all

[00:21:37] Written pre-COVID and we had just started The demoing process And coming together And like really finishing the songs together And then the world burned down And that put not the As fucking hamper on things And even when it got back up and running

[00:21:53] It was still kind of a slow grind To pull all the pieces back together And you know we had a lot of the tracking done So even just to get in there And you know finish those few little things That we needed to do

[00:22:05] And put vocals on things And there's some samples not on the record So a lot of those finishing things Like just felt like we were never going to get To the finishing line with it So I think we're going to all be super glad

[00:22:17] To have it out because like personally speaking I'm super done with it I just want it out and gone and launched into the world And if I got anything else left And me hopefully that will start coming This whole record has been done for like two years

[00:22:29] We've been just trying to get it put out Like for two years now So it's been like almost five years Like it's been a right It's a major, major, stupidly long gap Between our lives That's a long time to sit on a record

[00:22:44] Yeah but I mean like you said We did a couple of comps here and there Over COVID And we did like just a free digital EP Download and someone else here and there Just kind of limped along So people knew that And we're now a band

[00:22:59] And eventually got to a place where We could start positioning Releasing the record and some singles I really dig the Texas chain song Song Like a lot of things That's all fucking rules That was a riff to that It was a riff I had for a long time

[00:23:18] And couldn't fit it to anything Didn't have anything to do with it And they just sat down one day And I was fucking determined It's a great name too Texas chain song I don't know I'll be listening to it for fucking ever

[00:23:36] Oh yeah I like to think I'm quite clever I can dig the differ I know him really well too I know him really well too I know him really well too I know him really well too I know him really well too We met a real man

[00:24:04] He knew someone he'd fix it He set up in It isn't far Jump in the back until you're right there in the car The next day we know we're at some creepy farmhouse And it's now I got my joint in a village And things are gonna get worse

[00:24:18] Before they get better Don't ask why I got this hunch So we sat down We think I was a hey Things can't be that bad I'm gonna hate but wait a sec Oh what the heck That guy beside him They connected to his deck

[00:24:40] And then we heard a rumble that was getting louder It got all the liars rookie in the air And when the drinks were pushing through The kissing door that it was through And he was there It was a massacre No god to let it happen to me

[00:24:59] Now we're running for our worthless lives tonight Now we're running through this field While we try not to get killed And I'm sort of hoping that I'm dreaming That this is real Running for our worthless lives tonight Running through this field While we try not to get killed

[00:25:45] And I'm sort of hoping that I'm dreaming That this is real Running for our worthless lives tonight

[00:26:33] Yeah we love anything punk rock And of course anything horror So any combination of the two is Big fans of Yeah there are two avenues that We kind of definitely have legs in So it just comes naturally Yeah Texas Chainsaw Massacre

[00:26:51] Is a, that movie is really special to me Because it taught me that It's okay to hate somebody in a wheelchair Took you that long slow study man Just because you're handicapped doesn't mean You can't be a douche

[00:27:06] And Franklin is one of the worst characters in all of cinema Some of the worst people I've met Are handicapped people Tyler here we go We're canceled That's the greatest line ever spoken on this podcast Tyler, please make that the headline for the That will be

[00:27:23] Oh yeah that's the title of the episode That's that That's the title of the episode That's the title That's the title of the episode That's that We've had the Jason's on this podcast four times There's no way you're getting canceled Well it works for the beasties

[00:27:42] When they went to England their first tour The press wrote up a bunch of bullshit about them Making fun of handicapped kids Or hospitalized sick kids or some shit Oh really? Yeah blew right out for them All press is good press That's right Oh yeah

[00:28:00] Is there going to be a tour to support the record? This fall we are yes Okay are you coming down from the States? We haven't been booked for yet I'm working on booking everything now We're not allowed in the states There's some issues with Tyler

[00:28:14] And some kids on a pizza shop But I can't say anything further Because there's legal litigation still binding But we're not allowed into the US And the US isn't allowed into Oss either Just by the way Yeah I can't go to Canada

[00:28:28] Yeah man it's not allowed in Canada I'm not allowed in Canada Maybe we could do a prisoner swap High legal high five What are you guys spinning right now If you were to get into your car Or if you were to start up your truck

[00:28:44] And drive somewhere what would you put on the radio What are you listening to right now It super varies from time to time So I'm just going to go with what I most frequently had on in the truck Which was vindictives

[00:28:55] But I'll go through cycles with band films Probably going to be on the vindictives Here for a few weeks now But like I said most recently I was really back into the hair rocks For a bit and dipped into some methaman Red man for a bit

[00:29:09] And I just went down Back around to the vindictives Nice Tyler what about you I was just looking at my list And it's like sloppy seconds And I'm like Yeah fuck And if I In blink of an eye too For some odd reason I put on Cheshire Cat

[00:29:31] And I don't even like blink of an eye too Cheshire Cat's a bad record Sometimes you just got to play it Yeah How did they become You don't like grinder either You say but it's on your phone Well I never said I didn't like grinder

[00:29:49] What are you talking about That's how we met Busted Oh shit Secrets being That's an exclusive in obh I'm going to ask you these questions That we ask everybody So the first question is If you guys I don't know you guys don't have Death Row in Canada

[00:30:11] The record label Not the record label But that's almost as bad But like Being in prison You know what Death Row is It's kind of a last country like us Where we just kill people who are too fucked up I would like that

[00:30:29] If you were on Death Row Well if you were on Death Row What would your final meal be Cause you get a final meal when you're on Death Row That's the one that's the perk To being on Death Row It's not all bad

[00:30:43] I think for Tyler it would be a fucking What funnel cake cause you're a carny right So I would go turkey dinner all the way Oh fuck yeah That kind of turkey dinner Mass potato I'd go straight uranium Cause I think it's high calorie You're gonna say uranium

[00:31:03] Say something else Uranium Uranus You would pick uranium and then request a firing squad No, I would think if I ate the uranium It would be quite dead I would pick Uranus You could ask We've had pussy as an answer There you go Actually Barry from RKL

[00:31:28] His answer was pussy His answer was his girlfriend But I'm assuming he meant pussy Uranium or cyanide capsule What is it Gotcha Now I kind of want to do uranium One and then choose firing squad I kind of like that idea Goodbye prison Bye bye world

[00:31:51] This is a bad day for Matt And therefore the entire world Alright next question What's your favorite cereal You guys have cereal in Canada yeah No Yes we do What are you talking about What is that with me, Igloo I like to eat the Rouloups From Rouloups

[00:32:19] If we like Igloo crunch Scammin' O's We like sugar frosted beaver blasters Beaver blasters That's the ultimate for a strip club Beaver blasters That's an awesome name for a band too It is Beaver sugar coated beaver blasters I don't know I just like the fruit loops

[00:32:48] You like fruit loops Yeah I hate fruit loops But that's fine it's your ass See it's so weird that you hate fruit loops Because your cereal is fruity pebbles Yeah yeah It tastes exactly the same It's a different shape and texture Pebbles and loops are so

[00:33:08] But the flavor is the same Have you ever tasted a pebble versus a loop It's like onion rings versus a blooming onion Exactly Totally different The texture is different And the shape is different Different experience Mike what's your cereal Fumi Fumi's I thought it was like needle juice

[00:33:33] I got some fruit loops in the cover Oh shit Ahhhh They're not mine they're my kids When they eat here I eat the little mother fucker cereal all the time He just smokes cigarettes for breakfast All right third question is If you were to have so

[00:33:53] They actually do this So if you were to be cremated after you died They could take your ashes And they could actually form it into a vinyl record So if you were going to have your ashes eternalized In a vinyl record Which album would you pick

[00:34:08] It has to be an album that exists So which record What's what Purple ring Nice I'm going to have to go with our own shit Just because you know I've got kids so We're going to record with me actually in it Of our crappy music

[00:34:28] That would be really touching Which record though The new one that's coming out or the previous one A whole different secret one You guys don't know about Wait a minute I don't even know about this one It's with his other guitars Yeah The good guitars

[00:34:51] All right who's on your Mount Rushmore of punk rock You get five people because you get a crazy horse too So Mount Rushmore is In the United States we have this monument This four fucking presidents We know what the goddamn thing is

[00:35:04] We got a school assistant in Canada James Christ In Canada we got this fort called hockey You go on an ice with a fucking knife boot Yup All right Trailer you pick two and I'll pick two And then we'll fight to the death on the other Okay

[00:35:23] Well it has to be Jonny Rotten Yup For one Mmm Do you want to know what I had this picked out because I listened to Nick Spoon's episode And he went with all Joey's He did

[00:35:40] pick Joey Cape and I was yelling at the radio pick Joey Cape so I'm gonna put Joey Cape on there okay just because it's my favorite songwriter ever good choice so Johnny rotten Joey Cape those

[00:35:54] are two very different people very different but both very influential so yes and they have their own moms in different hands different hands what that means yeah so Joey Ramon's got to go over

[00:36:15] there obviously so how is Mr. Cape and who the fuck else we say Johnny rotten Joey Ramon I put Richard up there to you okay you know what that's not the first time somebody has said little Richard oh so original

[00:36:39] he's only the second time it's a good answer actually I'm going medium size fucking Richard medium Richard that's better medium Richard with super punk rock he was a little bit more punk rock than little Richard

[00:36:59] like so you got Johnny rotten Joey Cape Johnny Ramon I mean Joey Ramon little Richard medium Richard medium Richard yeah one of the rich ones yeah Ty who else one more

[00:37:14] geez oh you picked one of the Ramones but I would I would want to go with Dee Dee Ramon too right I guess right one more songs yeah we can pick two Ramones and anybody who has a problem

[00:37:29] yeah it's our mount Rushmore right in Canada and find us yeah yeah I mean there's been people who have picked all the Ramones so yeah you guys may have a man Rushmore but we have a fucking giant

[00:37:39] lobster and like a big chicken too and shoddy act so and a toe do you guys know about the toe you guys are further away from the toe than we are though I think yeah that's the complete

[00:37:48] no but a lot of those wash up on the other side of the country that's where it is the West Coast toes are I think we played with actually do you guys do you guys know about the old sourtow that's a fucking great banding what's that story

[00:38:06] to do you know about the old sourtow no Tyler had that once on tour you suck it all was awful no those kidney stones oh Jamie have the sourtow yeah Jamie has constant sour toes now there's there's a thing in the Yukon territory like way up by the

[00:38:28] like the border of Yukon territory and Canada or I mean Alaska in this place called like Dawson City where it's become this tourist thing where you go and take a shot with a human toe in it

[00:38:40] you're not allowed to drink the toe you just have to let it touch your lips that's good I think there was an SNFU song about that yeah I know that was a big song

[00:38:49] that was a big song sorry I don't know there might be an SNFU song about it that seems like something they'd write about great man I think I heard about you guys talking about this

[00:39:02] toe yeah we did talk about it during uh Nick's episode yeah I've talked about it so many times like that you should look it up and read about it it's pretty fucking crazy and something I'm

[00:39:13] definitely doing before I die oh but I'm gonna ask whole because I'm not the first guy to bring up little Richard but this is the fucking seventh time you tell a toe story medium Richard the cod kiss him the cod did you guys hear about kissing the cod

[00:39:31] no what's kissing the cod wait I think I've heard I have heard about that but uh what is that that's a newfoundland thing yeah tell us tell that story because I please yeah yeah because I don't know it that's with an Atlantic Canadian island called Newfoundland and

[00:39:47] one of the traditions when you go over there to get sworn in as an honorary Newfoundlander you get to drink this blessed uh will of uh alcoholic poisonous gasoline called screech and after you do you say a little shanty and you kiss a raw fish on the lips

[00:40:09] and then you get a certificate that says you're an honorary Newfoundlander I did it twice just because I'm in the kitchen kissing sea creatures yeah this is up my alley yeah kiss and fish

[00:40:23] yeah sure yeah I guess we got to get on this thing with these guys and one of them's a real fish kisser what a fish kisser there he's a fish fister that sounds more up my alley the fish kisser with his fister he's a fish fister

[00:40:49] that's a tongue twister your blood pressure all right there Ty you're looking off a red bud yeah freaking out it was so hot today you know the outside all day how hot was it

[00:41:01] very isn't the 90s down here in dc here yeah well we have a thing called Celsius up here bud so yeah fuck Celsius fucking well Celsius that's that's an energy drink in this state Celsius we

[00:41:19] go by Fahrenheit which is the that's a bond joey record down here what was it up there today like like 33 34 yeah it was that hot up there yep yeah last couple days we've had a they call it you

[00:41:38] know how now well actually we have this fun thing in Canada where we're paying this hokey tax to fix the sky it's called a carbon tax but even despite the fact that we're throwing coins up in the sky like

[00:41:50] at hookers we have this thing called a heat dome now that everyone's trying to scare you that the environment's trying to kill you all the old weather has new names to make it scarier now

[00:42:00] so now it's it's a heat wave but it's a heat dome now so it's more threatening and fucking yeah so I'm certain if we keep paying the carbon tax it'll it's gonna save the more money you pay

[00:42:14] that bless the heat dome will be it'll disappear well yeah but don't worry about it because the government gives your rebates back so by giving the government your money somehow you end up

[00:42:23] with more money they tell you so it's all it's all good let's all let's hope the heat dome isn't as bad as money uh or isn't as bad with money as Jesus is yeah I do I do have to say this

[00:42:39] before because I was listening to your your music a bunch and I was you know going through all your social media shit and um I fucking tie the jigs up hang up no no no I this I love you guys even more

[00:42:55] for the shit that you are not afraid to talk about and for the you know what I'm talking about I Matt and I this this podcast is not uh Matt where am I going with this I'm drunk so we're going to talk about shit we shouldn't

[00:43:16] talk about it sometimes and the fun thing is we don't even mean like 20 actually probably about 98% of the shit we say just saying it's fucking funny and to make each other laugh yeah

[00:43:27] and I know exactly what you mean Ron uh I think the the term you're looking for Ron is uh you and I are generally not susceptible to group think yeah yeah and your song called Nancy Pelosi

[00:43:41] made me laugh out loud for about 20 minutes when I kept listening which one Nancy Pelosi what's on the nomination right the funny thing with that song is I just couldn't stop hearing that

[00:43:52] name anytime I turn to radio or the news or anything and then my brain just stuck a melody it just became this stupid song I have this great uh pension for writing just dumb songs

[00:44:03] they don't give a shit I'll just you know let the songs do what they want to do kind of things so and uh actually when we released the video for that um a buddy of ours from

[00:44:13] another fan wrote us and was like that song about Nancy Pelosi like is that fucking slagger or whatever it's like no no just I'll be right back just a song about a lady's name where you go in

[00:44:22] Ferris wheel boy some kids fell off the fucking Ferris wheel again Tyler's carnival has a death rate worse than a fucking baby drop in doctor you couldn't imagine the amount of kids that go off

[00:44:33] the side of that carnival full percent of kids do not survive his carnival oh my god probably some sort of fucking wrenched off like the whole ICP thing that's where it started kids

[00:44:45] that hurt themselves on his rides and they're all pissed off and got an attitude what's the um what's the old wives shirt is that a band uh yeah it's a band from uh out in fuck I hope I don't

[00:44:58] get this wrong I think just from Ontario no you're wrong we're from Edmonton is it there from fucking western canine knew it i'm bad at geography I needed you here there was a fucking geography question and where were you off saving some fucking kid who got

[00:45:12] his legs fucking half tore off on the Ferris wheel again kids just falling out left and fucking right they hit me for the geography question what a prick anyway yeah they're uh funny the virus from Edmonton

[00:45:25] what the kids be here for your bandmate where is geography yeah that guy all right I gotta check out old wives now because I like that shirt yeah the drummer is uh Darren

[00:45:39] Chuka from uh Teenage Ball Rocket oh oh no shit okay maybe I have heard them before then here I'm again you can't you can't steer yourself wrong no I know I'm definitely gonna

[00:45:51] fucking hear him again just based off of that shirt I fucking love it says old wives it looks like a malt liquor fucking label yeah yeah it was a further run of shows that they did down here

[00:46:00] there was a shitty beard uh in atlanta canada called oland export so that's uh smocked off the label for that nice that's funny right special edition I hope none of them see this

[00:46:10] and see that I cut the arms off their valuable valuable shirt show off your muscular arms that's right I look punkered this way and I got it from them anyway so oh yeah I think you look cute

[00:46:24] hey what months does your carnival run from uh May till October or September the very end of September yeah so you work you bust your ass during those months then you're like off the

[00:46:36] rest of the year uh pretty much we have like shop work and stuff like that we do all winter but is it uh just Canadian carnivals do you guys yes like just the land canada okay okay yeah yeah

[00:46:52] right now like I'm pretty much at the border of Quebec but we don't step foot in there because it's scary the carnival game in Canada is a lot like the uh bike club situation in the U.S. right

[00:47:01] Tyler's carnivals like your healthy angels then you'll have another show that's like your mongol they don't cross here there's a lot of bloodshed fucking monkey wrenches stay in your territory fuck yeah you don't want to carnival right one of what uh an ex roommate of mine

[00:47:22] not too long ago uh was dating a chick from Montreal and she used to come down here and visit and uh she used to always bitch to me about how we would have all that we have all this great

[00:47:33] food down here because in Montreal or well in all of Quebec but in Montreal specifically they can't really get all that great of food because there's laws about the language that

[00:47:45] has to be on the packaging of the food that's true that is true and it has to have French and English on it yeah they're really we don't we just can't get that much food because it has to have

[00:47:56] French on the packaging now they're they're sort of an outlier like they're a province in Canada but it's really much a room unto itself it's not uh so much part of Canada as it is Quebec is

[00:48:08] Quebec so they've uh like a lot of like a lot of reason shit like that that are like provincial or nationwide like Quebec doesn't participate in them they're just a lot of weird laws that way with

[00:48:20] them what is the consensus among like I mean I'm sure you guys know normal Canadians a lot about the people in your area but yeah about allowing them to secede because I remember when they

[00:48:33] actually tried to and then it got shot down were people like cool with it geographically like they're literally they couldn't be more smack fucking dab in the middle of the breeze so like there's no geographical way to accomplish that anyway it's just uh just political

[00:48:50] dick measuring power really yeah that's kind of what I figured I because I would assume aside from like people living in eastern Canada and then on the west of Quebec which is like Ontario's just

[00:49:03] west of Quebec right? Tyler yes yes it is there's no other way to drive around Quebec you would have to drive through right? You'd have to drive through it yeah was that like the major reason

[00:49:17] why they aside from like the bullshit political stuff? Uh yeah and I think like currency because they still wanted to use Canadian currency if I'm not mistaken so they're like we want to be our

[00:49:29] own country but we still want to use your money and do this and oh yeah it was just really stupid yeah you guys are looking at you ask this question to us actually because we're two of Canada's

[00:49:39] most cherished deep political thinkers yeah we got a better perspective on this whole Quebec referendum issue so thank you yeah we've already set this in stone like that it's done this is a

[00:49:52] political podcast yeah yeah I'm just always curious about like because what what year was it was in the 90s right when that tried to go down? No I think it was recently oh well they did it it happens

[00:50:06] every few years yeah yeah yeah okay yes okay it's happened multiple times yes do they have poutine outside of uh Quebec? Oh yeah poutine is a shit that's never can anything ever you don't get this body

[00:50:22] without it yeah you got these theories that'll make you fancy fucking gourmet poutines and everything crazy gourmet poutines do you think that your leader is the son of uh we don't really have a leader as much as a

[00:50:39] fucking national embarrassed son of a what? Son of what's the cube what's the cube what's his name what's son of a calling me Fidel yeah Fidel yeah yeah I was gonna say bitch

[00:50:53] I've seen pictures and timelines man it kind of adds up yeah that's right son of a bitch oh man I remember I remember the first time I heard that and I was like this there's no way this is

[00:51:07] true and then somebody showed me a picture and I was like what oh yeah so you look at the two men it's like wait like I believe in coincidences but come the fuck on this has got to just be a

[00:51:18] coincidence and then somebody showed me a picture of his mom hanging out with Fidel Castro and I was like wait anyway the new records we're gonna be in fucking Canadian sucking political gulags here we will drive up and we'll be the Canadian pussy right yeah

[00:51:45] that's how we should start building ourselves the follow-ups the Canadian pussy right yeah hey isn't this the isn't this the stupid shit punk records you're supposed to talk about though I always talk about it I think so until they become dads and have careers and shit ah you

[00:52:04] you said the C word ew carnival sorry I was gonna say carny for the carnival like you guys like on the road for like the whole few months or you guys

[00:52:19] oh yeah yeah so you like live in that truck then well currently yes just because a bunch of shit that's going on but not normally no okay so wait all right how rigged are the games actually well it depends if you're in America or not

[00:52:40] that's a good answer actually they're not rigged at all they're as straight as the political system two things you can trust in this life boys it's the fucking government and carny games okay thank thank you that's very reassuring what's the most popular game

[00:53:03] uh no the games aren't very popular anymore to be honest with you chase the meth head that's my bike the meth head Bob that's my bike doesn't the method usually chase you big draw like what's the big carny like fucking

[00:53:30] what's the most popular thing you guys have uh pizza pizza don't say you shit well we just got a new ride this year and it's uh pretty awesome so the mutilator what is it the

[00:53:46] pizza maker it's called the spin out the spin out the ride this year we got it from the face and it's all NASCAR seen it's so American this one's called the church molester

[00:54:01] we put it right next to the uncle toucher i have fun and i come it's like the greatest ride it's a terrible terrible ride i wrote it uh the watch list we're all getting put on

[00:54:18] well maybe you guys not us they're american you can you have freedom in america they call them watch fuck what's another word for list i blank i blew it god damn it companions

[00:54:38] the one we're in shut up you do has gonna run a steam here eventually yeah just like Joe biden cocaine wears off i'm no good anymore hell yeah dude jesus christ that guy what is your what is the canadian overall opinion of Joe biden well fuck the overall

[00:54:58] but your opinion on show okay about the overall opinion yeah we probably don't reflect the fucking thoughts and opinions of candidates um got out of a disclaimer way earlier but we started

[00:55:11] international incidents um why do i think i've never met the guy but um dawn of the dead was one of my favorite movies yes yeah me too the invasion of the people sniffers

[00:55:29] i kid about trudeau but like fuck at least i don't formulate sentences and fucking knows where he's going yeah he can formulate okay that's better given to them but he also says uh uh those words are 70 percent of his sentence now these blackface pictures are fucking precious

[00:55:54] like the guy's career we're teaching uh part-time substitute drama class and he was a i think part-time ski school instructor that's his whole fucking resume and now he's running the whole shabarri yeah i mean well also son of fiddle caster that's kind of big too well yeah

[00:56:11] that'll get you far he's done wonders everything's been fucking way greater i do have to say uh in the past four years i had never seen everybody can afford too many houses and too much groceries everybody's got all this gasoline around they don't know what

[00:56:30] the growing groceries out too many of these would cost you more not to buy the gas the wonderful reality show that is canadian parliament is like some of the great oh my god

[00:56:44] it's so fucking awesome i love your government those apples to do that i know like why can't our government be like the fact that they could talk shit about somebody else right in front of them

[00:56:55] and the other person has to listen to it is fucking crazy i hate reality television and i will watch canadian parliament all day long i think it's great that people are fucking like literally making a living and supporting emily's and that's their contribution to our society i

[00:57:13] dude i was blown away i was like how can this be fucking real it's kind of like the state of union when like the if you if you go on youtube there's that youtube channel called like bad lip

[00:57:25] reading the um the most recent us state of the union address on that bad lip reading i'm pretty sure the the guy who does that was just trying to figure out what they were actually saying and

[00:57:38] then just repeat what they were actually saying it's the most brilliant thing i have watched in fucking years and it is absolutely fucking hilarious and frightening because you're like i don't think there's any way that they were saying anything different than what this guy's

[00:57:51] doing but he made it comedic yeah no it's uh it can't be real life like the the world got way too dumb yeah particularly over covid but i'm pretty sure you know seren turned on that hedron collider in 2012 and bumped us into some sort of alternative timeline something's

[00:58:09] happened something right yeah something right no ron and i are big uh believers in the simulation theory oh yeah something got fucked up there yeah yeah i can't tell you how much i love you guys from

[00:58:24] just not not just just from just from your shit just from your your stance on shit you're being punk rock and you're fucking saying shit not being afraid to say shit and that's
