[00:00:00] Well they needed a jingle for their stupid little shows
[00:00:03] So they caught up the Jason's and we said
[00:00:04] Fuck no
[00:00:05] Then they caught us again and they gave us 20 bucks
[00:00:07] And we rubbed him a song that said
[00:00:09] You're back here, Sam
[00:00:10] Then they gave us more money and they asked us really nice
[00:00:12] And we finally gave in and we said
[00:00:14] Alright, alright you a song but it's gonna be a clone of a screeching weasel song
[00:00:18] That we heard a while ago
[00:00:20] So we rubbed him a jingle and it sounded really great
[00:00:22] It was the best little file that could rip the name of didn't work
[00:00:27] Now they stepped without a jingle saying our brains had
[00:00:31] Our brains had, our brains had, our brains had
[00:00:36] Our brains had, our brains had, our brains had
[00:00:41] Our brains had, our brains had
[00:00:43] Get a very non-copyright infringing sort of way
[00:00:54] What's going on everyone, welcome to another episode of Our Brains Hurt
[00:00:56] Thanks so much for hanging out
[00:00:58] Today we're doing something a little different
[00:00:59] It's going to be me giving a show review
[00:01:01] I flew out to LA last Sunday or last week
[00:01:05] For rich kids on LSD, RKL show that was last Sunday night at the Terra Grand Ballroom in LA
[00:01:10] It was fucking awesome
[00:01:12] I'm gonna talk about that
[00:01:14] And then I had a conversation with my friend Tom who's been on the show a couple times
[00:01:17] You guys all know him
[00:01:18] And I'm gonna play that conversation that I had with him last week
[00:01:21] So it's gonna be half me giving this RKL show review
[00:01:25] And my time in LA review
[00:01:27] And then a conversation with Tom
[00:01:29] But first, we do have a couple shows to announce
[00:01:32] So keep these on your calendar, July 6th to Saturday
[00:01:36] Pie Shop in DC, Diesel Boy
[00:01:39] Yes, that Diesel Boy is back and touring
[00:01:42] They will be playing with American television over our eyes and 40 reps
[00:01:47] That is an entire show made up of all headliners
[00:01:50] Playing all together
[00:01:52] It's gonna be fucking rad
[00:01:53] You know Pie Shop only holds 100 people so get your tickets
[00:01:56] It will sell out, I say that a lot
[00:01:59] And actually lately I've been correct
[00:02:01] But this one, there's no fucking doubt this show is gonna sell out
[00:02:04] So head over to PieShopDC.com to get your tickets
[00:02:07] Or head over to ourbrainshirt.com and click on the links
[00:02:10] You can find, you know, I mean you guys know how to use Google
[00:02:13] Get tickets
[00:02:14] Diesel Boy, July 6th
[00:02:16] And two weeks after that Diesel Boy show we're hosting at Atlas Brew Works in DC
[00:02:20] The Dolly Rots
[00:02:22] They are playing with Soraya and DC's very own Curse Words
[00:02:26] That's Wednesday, July 24th
[00:02:29] Get tickets for that as well
[00:02:31] And coming up shortly after that, September 21st
[00:02:34] Save the date
[00:02:36] Ourbrainshirt podcast is doing our own beer
[00:02:39] An oatmeal coffee stout through TruVal Brewery
[00:02:44] Brewery in Haymarket, Virginia
[00:02:46] The show will be, the show and release party will be at the brewery in Haymarket, Virginia
[00:02:51] On September 21st, it's a Saturday
[00:02:53] So save the date for that
[00:02:55] More details to come as far as bands and time and all that good stuff
[00:03:00] Also feel free to head over to ourbrainshirt.com and fill out your All Star Punk Rock Band
[00:03:05] You could go there, click on, use form your own band, singer, guitarist, bassist, second guitarist, drummer, whatever
[00:03:12] Submit it
[00:03:13] And one of these days we're gonna run a contest and do something with that
[00:03:18] Cause as of right now I think only five people have submitted it
[00:03:21] So if we only get a few more that's fine, we'll just maybe talk about the bands
[00:03:24] And how everybody else except for me is wrong
[00:03:26] That's fine too
[00:03:27] But go ahead, it's fun, All Star Punk Band, ourbrainshirt.com
[00:03:30] Alright
[00:03:32] So last week I flew out to LA
[00:03:36] Rich Kids on LSD, RKL, got back together
[00:03:40] New singer obviously
[00:03:43] Newish drummer Dave Ron played drums for them back in the day
[00:03:46] But obviously not the original drummer
[00:03:49] Bomber and Jason Sears both passed away
[00:03:52] Back in 05 and 06, within like a month of each other I think
[00:03:56] Never thought I'd have a chance to see RKL play
[00:04:00] So of course when they announced that they were getting back together and playing shows in California
[00:04:05] I fucking jumped on the chance cause my brother's out on LA so
[00:04:09] You know, I got a place to stay, I got to visit my niece and nephews
[00:04:13] Hang out with them, see RKL, fucking awesome
[00:04:17] So I fly out there on a Thursday
[00:04:19] Flight was cool
[00:04:22] Actually it's funny cause I was seeing a lot of things about the Boeing 737 MAX
[00:04:27] Cause there's been like issues with like, oh I don't know, the door opening mid flight a couple times
[00:04:33] And I actually was sitting like, my seat was right on the emergency exit door
[00:04:38] Like literally like I'm leaning up against the emergency exit door
[00:04:41] They had to ask if I was like willing to open the door in case of an emergency before we took off
[00:04:46] So yeah whatever
[00:04:48] So the flight was fine but as we were like descending into LA
[00:04:51] As we got maybe like 10 minutes from landing at LAX
[00:04:55] I started getting like, my leg was getting wet
[00:04:58] I noticed all this water like on my knee and my thigh
[00:05:01] And I look in the fucking, the emergency door is leaking
[00:05:05] Like there was just water pouring on my leg from outside of the plane
[00:05:11] Which was kind of, you know, I never like wished for a plane to land so fast in my life
[00:05:19] But so that was a little shaky
[00:05:21] Luckily that was at the last 10 minutes of the flight
[00:05:24] And we landed and I never said anything
[00:05:28] So hopefully somebody doesn't get sucked out because I didn't say anything
[00:05:32] But whatever, I got there
[00:05:35] And one of the things I wanted to do when I got to LA was
[00:05:39] You got to head up Wienerschnitzel
[00:05:41] There's no Wienerschnitzels out east
[00:05:45] Especially now that I have a bomb ass tattoo from Missy Blue
[00:05:50] My descendants tattoo with the Wienerschnitzel added
[00:05:53] So we go to Wienerschnitzel like the first day I was there
[00:05:57] And I see this sign and it's, you know, they're selling these hats for 10 bucks
[00:06:01] And the hat just says, I love Wieners
[00:06:03] So it's like an eye has a heart with the Wienerschnitzel logo in it and then Wieners
[00:06:07] And I was like, I'm getting a hat from me and Missy
[00:06:09] Because she's a descendants fan
[00:06:12] She would love this hat
[00:06:14] So I ordered two hats and they had just run out
[00:06:17] Like the day before they sold out of the hat
[00:06:19] So I was like, fuck, alright
[00:06:21] So that just gave me another addition to my LA mission
[00:06:24] I was buying these fucking Wienerschnitzels
[00:06:27] So I'm like, alright, the next couple days I'm going to drive around to different Wienerschnitzels
[00:06:30] And find the fucking hats
[00:06:32] Spoiler alert, I did that
[00:06:34] There were no more hats
[00:06:35] The day after I got back
[00:06:37] All the Wienerschnitzels were reloaded with I Love Wiener hats
[00:06:40] So if anybody out there has an I Love Wiener hat
[00:06:42] Or two
[00:06:43] That they want to send to me so I can give one to Missy as well
[00:06:46] Shout out Missy Blue
[00:06:47] Bluebird tattoo, Hanover PA
[00:06:50] Let me know
[00:06:52] I'll pay double
[00:06:53] I'll pay $20 for a fucking I Love Wiener hat
[00:06:58] Speaking of Missy Blue and Bluebird tattoo
[00:07:01] Vicky who also works up at Bluebird
[00:07:03] Is doing a promo right now
[00:07:05] For $10 you could enter to get a tattoo from her at Raffle
[00:07:08] She's doing a tattoo raffle
[00:07:10] $10 head over to her Instagram
[00:07:13] Her Instagram handle is at Happy Camper Tattoos
[00:07:17] Vicky is a phenomenal tattoo artist
[00:07:20] She does like this really awesome realism mashup
[00:07:23] You can go to her, you'll see it all on her Instagram page
[00:07:27] But head over to at Happy Camper Tattoos if you're on Instagram
[00:07:31] And it's only $10
[00:07:33] And if you win you get an awesome Vicky tattoo for life
[00:07:37] And if you lose you donate $10 to an awesome artist
[00:07:40] It's a win-win situation so head over there
[00:07:42] And check it out
[00:07:45] So after striking out at Wiener Schnitzel
[00:07:48] What was the total strikeout?
[00:07:49] I did have a Chicago dog
[00:07:51] Which is a hot dog with a pickle
[00:07:53] The size of the hot dog in the bun
[00:07:55] With tomato, onions, mustard
[00:07:58] It's fucking delicious
[00:07:59] And some other kind of pepper
[00:08:01] That they call sport pepper
[00:08:03] I don't know what the fuck it looked like little
[00:08:05] Pepperoncinis which I fucking hate
[00:08:07] Because there's no spice to pepperoncinis
[00:08:09] It's just messy and vinegary
[00:08:11] That's the worst of the peppers to be honest
[00:08:13] Anyway, shout out Wiener Schnitzel
[00:08:16] So we went to the beach a couple times in Malibu
[00:08:19] Saw dolphins and pelicans
[00:08:22] And all sorts of cool shit
[00:08:24] So the day of the show comes around
[00:08:27] On Sunday
[00:08:28] And the show is at the Terra Grande Ballroom
[00:08:30] In downtown LA
[00:08:31] I don't think I've ever been to downtown LA before
[00:08:33] My brother's been living in the valley for the past few years
[00:08:36] And he was in West Hollywood before then
[00:08:38] So I used to definitely been all over the beaches
[00:08:41] And Hollywood and the valley
[00:08:43] But I think this might have been my first time in downtown
[00:08:46] Looks like downtown anywhere else
[00:08:48] If you've been to downtown Baltimore
[00:08:49] That's what downtown LA looks like
[00:08:51] So the Terra Grande Ballroom
[00:08:53] I would compare it to maybe the Baltimore soundstage
[00:08:56] If you're from this area or the 930 Club
[00:08:58] If the 930 Club didn't have a balcony seating
[00:09:01] It was just the floor
[00:09:03] That's kind of about the size of the Terra Grande Ballroom
[00:09:05] We get there and
[00:09:08] Tons of people already was sold out
[00:09:11] We got right in line for merch
[00:09:13] Because I wanted to get some merch before they sold out
[00:09:15] RKL had come up with these t-shirts
[00:09:18] That they were selling just on these five tour dates
[00:09:20] They played the first, the second, the third
[00:09:22] The fifth in LA
[00:09:23] And they're playing up on the 25th
[00:09:25] Out in Punk Rock Bowling in Vegas
[00:09:27] First and second
[00:09:29] We're up in the San Francisco area
[00:09:31] The third, they played Santa Barbara
[00:09:33] And then the fifth was in LA
[00:09:35] So basically they made these t-shirts
[00:09:37] They're only selling at these shows
[00:09:39] With all five of those dates on the back
[00:09:41] So I was like, alright, we have to get there
[00:09:44] This is the fourth of the five shows
[00:09:47] They're probably already running out of stuff
[00:09:49] So let's get merch
[00:09:50] Even though I hate getting merch at first
[00:09:52] Because you have to walk around with either a bag
[00:09:54] Or your pockets like fucking full of shit
[00:09:56] So we get there and
[00:10:00] Matt, I know it was Matt's birthday this week
[00:10:02] May 9th, shout out, Matt alive
[00:10:04] Happy birthday
[00:10:05] I knew I was going to get him a couple things
[00:10:07] Because he also shares my love for RKL
[00:10:10] And all things RKL
[00:10:13] I'm a 2X in t-shirts
[00:10:15] Which is awesome
[00:10:16] But not awesome enough to get one
[00:10:18] Because they were sold out of 2Xs
[00:10:20] But I was able to get Matt a shirt
[00:10:23] So Matt got a shirt to the show that I went to
[00:10:26] That I couldn't get a shirt for
[00:10:28] So I strike out I have no I love Wiener hat
[00:10:30] And I have no fucking RKL t-shirt
[00:10:33] But that's okay, because I was there
[00:10:35] So that's fine
[00:10:36] I bought a hat
[00:10:38] And I bought a couple other things
[00:10:40] I got my brother's shirt
[00:10:41] And I got myself a different shirt
[00:10:43] So I'm walking around with these ginorm-
[00:10:45] I'm wearing these shorts with like my pockets
[00:10:47] With like fucking ridiculous
[00:10:49] And I wanted to get more stuff
[00:10:50] But I wanted to get
[00:10:52] They were selling show specific posters
[00:10:56] For each show
[00:10:57] And it was the one for LA
[00:10:58] That was pretty awesome
[00:10:59] You could find it online
[00:11:00] The picture of it on all their social media and shit
[00:11:03] And I was at, I asked them
[00:11:05] There was a huge stack of these fucking things
[00:11:07] And I didn't want to get one of those at first
[00:11:09] Because I knew I was going to be going up front
[00:11:11] To watch RKL
[00:11:12] And I didn't want to get something that could be bent
[00:11:14] Or torn or whatever
[00:11:15] So I asked dude
[00:11:17] I was like you guys
[00:11:18] You have plenty of these left over towards the end of the show
[00:11:20] Right if I come back
[00:11:21] He's like oh yeah, yeah, yeah
[00:11:22] But they didn't
[00:11:23] So strike three
[00:11:24] The first band was the Grimm
[00:11:26] They're from the Valley
[00:11:27] Actually from Woodland Hills
[00:11:28] Which is where my brother lives
[00:11:29] Five piece punk band
[00:11:31] Really really cool
[00:11:32] I met the guitarist
[00:11:33] This huge dude
[00:11:35] He's probably like
[00:11:36] Close to seven feet tall
[00:11:38] Ginormous
[00:11:40] I met him after
[00:11:42] At the end of the show
[00:11:43] At their merch table
[00:11:44] And I got to hit him up
[00:11:45] Because he said he would do the podcast
[00:11:46] So I'm going to hit him up
[00:11:49] But they were fucking
[00:11:50] They were really good
[00:11:51] So look up the Grimm
[00:11:52] G-R-I-M
[00:11:53] Really cool band
[00:11:54] They opened a cigar
[00:11:56] Played second
[00:11:57] Cigar is fucking phenomenal
[00:12:00] I
[00:12:02] Only learned about cigar
[00:12:03] Maybe earlier this year
[00:12:04] I think it was when
[00:12:07] I bought tickets for this show
[00:12:08] And Matt
[00:12:09] Matt knows about
[00:12:10] Well Matt knows about all things punk rock
[00:12:11] Because he is the punk rock rain man
[00:12:14] Matt was telling me
[00:12:15] He's like dude
[00:12:16] That band opening for RKL
[00:12:17] And you go
[00:12:18] Cigar
[00:12:19] Check them out
[00:12:20] They're fucking phenomenal
[00:12:22] My brother heard them
[00:12:23] For the first time
[00:12:24] The day before the show
[00:12:25] Because I played them for him
[00:12:28] And right after the show
[00:12:29] They became my brother's
[00:12:30] New favorite band
[00:12:31] Cigar
[00:12:32] That's how fucking good they are
[00:12:34] Phenomenal
[00:12:35] So check them out too
[00:12:36] Three piece
[00:12:37] They put out a record on fat
[00:12:38] I think in 2022
[00:12:39] 2023
[00:12:40] Something like that
[00:12:41] Musically
[00:12:42] The tightest band
[00:12:43] You'll ever see
[00:12:44] And they're all
[00:12:45] Aliens of their instrument
[00:12:46] Vocals are amazing
[00:12:48] Great band
[00:12:49] So once Cigar was finished playing
[00:12:53] That's when I told my brother
[00:12:54] Like look I'm going to go up front
[00:12:56] For RKL
[00:12:57] Because I can't
[00:12:58] I can't not be up front for like
[00:13:00] My favorite few bands in the world
[00:13:02] Like Descendants
[00:13:03] No effects
[00:13:05] RKL
[00:13:06] I have to be up front
[00:13:07] I don't care if I get trampled
[00:13:08] Whatever
[00:13:09] But you have to
[00:13:10] It's important when you go up front
[00:13:11] You have to
[00:13:12] When you're older
[00:13:13] Like I'm 46
[00:13:14] You have to go all the way up front
[00:13:15] Like you're either against the stage
[00:13:16] Or you can't go up front
[00:13:17] Because if you're
[00:13:18] You can't be the one catching
[00:13:19] The people stage diving
[00:13:20] They have to be going over your head
[00:13:22] You know what I mean
[00:13:24] It's like when you're at the beach
[00:13:25] And you want to swim out
[00:13:26] You have to swim out past the waves
[00:13:27] Otherwise it gets fucking gnarly
[00:13:30] That's where I was
[00:13:31] I was against the stage
[00:13:32] I got to the front
[00:13:34] Five seconds into the first song
[00:13:36] All you do is push
[00:13:37] Push away to the stage
[00:13:38] And then you're there
[00:13:39] It was awesome
[00:13:40] I was right in front of
[00:13:41] Tony Frestor, the new singer
[00:13:43] And Lil Joe was like right there too
[00:13:48] Chris Rest
[00:13:49] Chris Rest looks just like the dude from
[00:13:51] I don't know if you guys are into
[00:13:52] Game of Thrones
[00:13:53] That actor
[00:13:54] Remember that like
[00:13:55] I don't know what season it was
[00:13:56] Where this guy came in
[00:13:57] But he was like a
[00:13:59] Super religious, like creepy
[00:14:00] Priest guy
[00:14:02] He's the one who made
[00:14:04] What's her name? Walk through the
[00:14:06] Street Snaked
[00:14:07] For to shame her
[00:14:10] Anyway, Chris Rest looks just like that dude
[00:14:12] It's like it's really weird
[00:14:13] But anyway
[00:14:15] The show was awesome
[00:14:16] There was this one
[00:14:18] Right before the right before
[00:14:19] RKL started playing
[00:14:20] I was standing and there was
[00:14:21] These two dudes talking to me
[00:14:22] They were in this band called
[00:14:23] Cadaver Pudding
[00:14:25] Which is
[00:14:27] A really disgusting
[00:14:28] Slash awesome name for a punk band
[00:14:30] And I think they just played with
[00:14:31] The Dickies this past weekend
[00:14:32] Up in San Francisco
[00:14:33] But I was talking to them
[00:14:34] And I'm going to get them
[00:14:35] On the podcast as well
[00:14:36] They were pretty cool
[00:14:38] And RKL was fucking phenomenal
[00:14:39] They're
[00:14:40] Tony Frestor is such
[00:14:41] A great frontman
[00:14:43] To plug into that band
[00:14:45] And to really keep the essence
[00:14:48] Of what they had going in the past
[00:14:51] Ongoing if that makes sense
[00:14:53] His presence on stage is fucking perfect
[00:14:56] And his
[00:14:57] The sound of his voice is perfect
[00:14:59] For RKL
[00:15:00] So awesome job
[00:15:02] Not that you need to hear it for me
[00:15:04] But that was
[00:15:05] Awesome pick for a vocalist
[00:15:07] For that band moving forward
[00:15:08] And hopefully
[00:15:09] This isn't just like a one year thing
[00:15:11] Where they're just playing some show
[00:15:12] Hopefully they maybe put out a record
[00:15:13] And
[00:15:14] I'm sure they'll make it out east
[00:15:15] Because Tony
[00:15:16] Municipal Waste
[00:15:17] He's the singer for Municipal Waste
[00:15:19] They're from Richmond, I believe
[00:15:21] So I'm hoping that RKL will be out east
[00:15:23] Maybe in the fall
[00:15:24] Or winter
[00:15:26] But
[00:15:28] Yeah, one point
[00:15:29] I guess maybe the third or fourth song
[00:15:32] I'm right against the stage
[00:15:35] And all these dudes
[00:15:36] All of a sudden this prosthetic leg
[00:15:38] Flies over my head
[00:15:39] And lands on the stage
[00:15:40] When you go to punk shows regularly
[00:15:42] That's not really like
[00:15:44] I mean it's weird
[00:15:45] For a prosthetic leg to fly over your head
[00:15:47] And land in front of you on the stage
[00:15:48] But it's not like
[00:15:49] Punk rock weird
[00:15:50] You know what I mean?
[00:15:51] It was like, oh, there's a leg on stage
[00:15:54] Tony Fresta, the singer
[00:15:56] Picks up the
[00:15:57] Prostetic leg
[00:15:58] This is mid song still
[00:16:01] He pours a beer into the prosthetic leg
[00:16:03] And chugs it
[00:16:05] Fucking gross
[00:16:07] Like because there's like people put powders and shit
[00:16:10] It's not just a fucking hollow thing
[00:16:12] There's gnarly shit in there
[00:16:14] Like there's medicine in there
[00:16:15] And there's probably sweat
[00:16:16] And I mean let's be honest
[00:16:18] This is like
[00:16:19] A punk rocker who let that thing be thrown
[00:16:21] Up on the stage
[00:16:22] So you could probably assume from that
[00:16:24] That he is not taking the greatest care of it
[00:16:27] So who knows what the fuck's in that thing
[00:16:29] Tony pours a beer in there
[00:16:30] And chugs the beer out of the fucking leg
[00:16:33] Then he walks up
[00:16:34] And he hands me the leg
[00:16:35] So now I'm holding this guy's leg
[00:16:37] For the rest of the song
[00:16:39] And I have video of it on my social media
[00:16:42] And you can see there's so much video
[00:16:44] And picks like all over the place
[00:16:46] If you just Google like
[00:16:47] RKL Terra Grand Ballroom
[00:16:49] You could probably pick me out from holding this
[00:16:51] Prostetic leg for half a song
[00:16:53] So after the song is over
[00:16:54] I don't know what to do with this leg
[00:16:55] I'm just like place it in front of me
[00:16:57] On the stage
[00:16:58] Now it's sitting there
[00:16:59] And then I feel like a tap on my shoulder
[00:17:02] I feel a tap on my shoulder
[00:17:04] And I turn around and some people are like
[00:17:05] Hey man can I get my leg back
[00:17:09] Which is like the funniest thing that
[00:17:10] Anybody's ever asked me ever
[00:17:12] Like I hope nobody's ever asked me that question before
[00:17:15] And I hope it's not the last time
[00:17:17] I've ever asked that question
[00:17:19] And he said it so like
[00:17:22] You know almost like hey can I have a cigarette
[00:17:24] You know what I mean like hey man
[00:17:25] Can I get my leg back
[00:17:27] So I was like oh this is yours
[00:17:28] And he's like I think so
[00:17:29] I'm missing one
[00:17:31] So anyway
[00:17:33] Gave you this fucking leg back
[00:17:36] And yeah it was fucking rad man
[00:17:38] And then towards
[00:17:40] They were playing
[00:17:42] You know they had their little
[00:17:44] They had their break
[00:17:45] When they came back
[00:17:46] You know their fake like this is the end of the show
[00:17:49] You know what the fuck
[00:17:50] The encore
[00:17:51] Whatever
[00:17:52] The song before the encore
[00:17:54] I lost the hat
[00:17:55] That I was wearing
[00:17:56] People started going
[00:17:57] I forget what song it was
[00:17:59] I stole a piece of a set list
[00:18:01] I grabbed the set list as I was leaving
[00:18:02] And it was like taped to the stage
[00:18:03] So I only had like half of it
[00:18:05] But I can't see what the
[00:18:06] It's not
[00:18:07] I don't know what song was
[00:18:08] Right before the encore
[00:18:10] But I lost my hat
[00:18:11] And I was like
[00:18:12] There's no
[00:18:13] I don't want to like bend over
[00:18:14] And look forward
[00:18:15] I'm just going to buy a new fucking hat
[00:18:16] So I split
[00:18:18] So I left there in the encore
[00:18:19] To go back to the merch table
[00:18:20] Because I wanted to get
[00:18:22] Tour posters
[00:18:23] I wanted to get a couple of them
[00:18:24] One for me, one for Matt
[00:18:26] And I wanted to get a new hat
[00:18:28] Because my hat's gone
[00:18:30] Even if I found that it would have been trampled on
[00:18:33] Shitty floor, beer, whatever
[00:18:34] So I go back to the merch booth
[00:18:37] No fucking posters
[00:18:39] I do get another hat
[00:18:40] And I met the guitarist for the Grimm
[00:18:43] Who will be on the show hopefully soon
[00:18:45] So, yeah, that was
[00:18:47] It was fucking awesome
[00:18:49] It was awesome to experience that
[00:18:52] Just in general
[00:18:53] But to have my brother there as well
[00:18:55] He hadn't been to a punk show in a long time
[00:18:58] Like I said
[00:18:59] Like he's a huge cigar fan now
[00:19:02] And RKL
[00:19:03] You know, it's
[00:19:05] Seeing bands like that
[00:19:06] That are so fucking tight
[00:19:08] At a club where the sound is awesome
[00:19:10] It's just, there's nothing like it
[00:19:12] So
[00:19:13] That was my show experience for RKL
[00:19:16] The next day I went back to a couple
[00:19:18] Wienerschnitzels to try to find these fucking hats
[00:19:20] Sorry, Missy
[00:19:21] You're not getting an I Love Wieners hat
[00:19:22] At least not right now
[00:19:24] They're all sold out
[00:19:26] And then I flew back
[00:19:27] I upgraded to first class on the way home
[00:19:29] Because I didn't want to sit among the riff-raff
[00:19:31] I mean, I am the textbook definition of riff-raff
[00:19:34] But this doesn't mean I want to be around the rest of them
[00:19:36] So
[00:19:37] The flight home was nice
[00:19:38] Even though it was a red eye
[00:19:39] And I can't sleep on planes
[00:19:40] Which got a little annoying
[00:19:41] But yeah, so that was my L.A.
[00:19:43] RKL experience
[00:19:45] My brother Scott is moving out here in a month
[00:19:47] Back to Maryland with his family
[00:19:49] His wife and three kids
[00:19:50] They will be in this area
[00:19:52] I'm excited about that
[00:19:53] Because we're going to take into some shows
[00:19:55] And have a good time
[00:19:56] It's going to be an awesome
[00:19:58] It's going to be awesome having them back east
[00:20:00] And I'm flying out to L.A. again with him in October
[00:20:03] To go see Noa Fex's final show
[00:20:06] That's a Friday, Saturday, Sunday, October 4, 5, 6
[00:20:09] Out in L.A.
[00:20:10] We have tickets to the Saturday and Sunday show
[00:20:12] So we'll probably fly out there on Friday the 4th
[00:20:14] And we'll be at the show the 5th and the 6th
[00:20:16] For their last two shows
[00:20:18] So yeah, so that was my L.A. experience
[00:20:20] Yeah, it's always great to go out there
[00:20:22] The view, the food, the bands
[00:20:25] It's a cool place to visit
[00:20:26] I wouldn't want to live there
[00:20:27] But it's an awesome place to visit, man
[00:20:28] I'm going to be on the next show
[00:20:29] So anyway, so that's my L.A. trip
[00:20:32] Now I will get into the conversation that I had with Tom

[00:21:59] Oh I always forget about that bedroom you have down there
[00:22:02] You're getting ready to go on vacation huh?
[00:22:05] Tomorrow morning yeah
[00:22:07] Six o'clock
[00:22:09] The flight leaves or six o'clock you have to leave the
[00:22:12] I leave at six, the flight's at eight
[00:22:14] And then I'm taking a red eye back on Monday night
[00:22:16] So I'll leave in LA at like 10.30 at night on Monday
[00:22:18] Get in at like 10.30
[00:22:19] On Tuesday
[00:22:21] So short
[00:22:23] What? Yeah I know
[00:22:25] I didn't have that much leave
[00:22:27] What was the trip for?
[00:22:29] Well half to visit Scott half to see RKL on Sunday
[00:22:32] Oh that's right
[00:22:34] I could remember if this was the
[00:22:36] I knew you were going out for a concert
[00:22:38] And I knew Scott was out there
[00:22:40] But I couldn't remember what was what so
[00:22:42] Yeah RKL man
[00:22:44] I'm so fucking excited
[00:22:46] I hit up Joe Raposa the bass player
[00:22:47] Yeah
[00:22:49] And I don't like asking to get back to
[00:22:53] I never asked for backstage
[00:22:55] I never asked for like guest list or anything like that
[00:22:57] Just because I think it's
[00:22:59] Yeah
[00:23:01] And so
[00:23:03] Just because I feel like I've given Bill Stevenson so much money from just that weekend of recording that we did that
[00:23:09] I owe it to him to shake his hand every once in a while
[00:23:12] But or he owes it to me
[00:23:14] But anyway
[00:23:15] I was like hey man I'm flying out from DC to see you guys in LA I'm super stoked
[00:23:20] I was hoping he'd be like awesome like you know
[00:23:22] Get there early and come back out and say hi but he just replied radical
[00:23:26] God damn it
[00:23:28] Yeah that's all you can expect
[00:23:31] But I might hit him up again on Friday or Saturday
[00:23:35] Just be like you know if you have a minute it would be awesome to meet you in person something like that
[00:23:39] Why not fuck it
[00:23:41] What are you drinking? That looks delicious
[00:23:43] It's seltzer water and cranberry juice
[00:23:45] Really? Yep
[00:23:47] How come?
[00:23:49] Because I got drunk earlier today
[00:23:51] I made chicken wings at like 12.30 ish
[00:23:55] And I cracked the beer open while I was making them
[00:23:57] And then Mark my brother Mark sends me to Texas
[00:23:59] He's like hey are you home
[00:24:01] I'm like yeah he lives in Jersey he just got back from Europe for three weeks
[00:24:03] Yeah
[00:24:05] And he's like I'm driving on 424 right now about to pass Lang Drive
[00:24:08] Oh shit
[00:24:10] I was like oh come on over and so he came over and we just got blasted
[00:24:12] And I smoked three cigarettes something I haven't done in like fucking five years
[00:24:17] Gross
[00:24:19] I'll tell you though that first one was magical
[00:24:22] Really?
[00:24:24] It felt like I was high as fuck for about 30 seconds
[00:24:26] Then I wanted to kill myself
[00:24:28] Yeah it's fuck you have clearance issues but that's funny
[00:24:32] Oh god yuck
[00:24:34] That's awesome that Mark was there that's gross that you were smoking
[00:24:38] Yeah I know
[00:24:39] I mean it's not I don't there's nothing about it that makes you want to smoke like again
[00:24:43] It's just like he had cigarettes I was drinking we were talking about family bullshit
[00:24:49] And I was getting anxiety
[00:24:51] I was like give me one of those fucking things
[00:24:53] Yeah I've been trying to catch up with all the other episodes
[00:24:55] But I listened to recently what was the last one that you
[00:24:58] Oh the Richie Rimmel
[00:25:00] Very good always good
[00:25:02] Yeah Richie always like
[00:25:04] He's it's so funny it's like the older the punk rocker
[00:25:07] Yeah
[00:25:09] The longer the story
[00:25:11] But it's but they're so great
[00:25:14] I know
[00:25:16] Like you guys should just turn that episode over and just be like it's not Matt and Ron
[00:25:19] It's whoever that guest is
[00:25:21] Yeah yeah and that's what we tell him too it's like
[00:25:24] Cause at one point he's like am I talking too much
[00:25:26] I remember that yeah
[00:25:28] And all of a sudden I mean why else would you contact somebody like that if you didn't want to hear the stories
[00:25:32] I was listening to one of the other ones too and you were talking about
[00:25:37] Who was it you were talking to somebody about the Michael Graves
[00:25:43] Concert that we went to
[00:25:45] Oh
[00:25:47] I can't remember who was
[00:25:49] Travis
[00:25:51] It might have been Travis about the coffee how like
[00:25:53] I mean how I originally met what's her um Jen
[00:25:57] Yeah yeah yeah at the show
[00:25:58] It's funny because I pulled out I bought a tour shirt from that concert when we went to see it
[00:26:04] Remember they weren't even supposed to be on that tour so that date isn't even listed on the shirt
[00:26:08] Oh really
[00:26:10] But yeah it was uh it was Michael Graves, Nim Vinn and it was uh Argyle
[00:26:14] Okay yeah
[00:26:16] Why was she there that's really weird looking back at her like yeah
[00:26:19] No idea but I remember her and um that other girl that had the same dual colored hair
[00:26:25] Yeah
[00:26:26] I think she went by like the dark artist or something like that
[00:26:30] She was a tattoo artist too
[00:26:32] Both girls we met at that show they said they were there to see them
[00:26:36] But I don't know why they would be all the way on the East Coast
[00:26:39] I mean I know Jen's from Canada so maybe if he's friends with Nim Vinn
[00:26:42] Oh that makes sense then
[00:26:44] I'm assuming I don't know why else she would be in fucking Dundalk of all places
[00:26:48] I can see if it was DC or something
[00:26:50] That was a weird spot too I mean
[00:26:52] It was a really weird spot
[00:26:54] You were sick remember how bad you felt
[00:26:56] I was like come on let's go talk to me like now you're killing me
[00:26:59] Yeah
[00:27:01] I was like drink a beer you'll feel fine
[00:27:03] Yeah I'm alright just leave me alone
[00:27:05] It's funny I was packing
[00:27:07] And I had this like
[00:27:09] That blowjob machine that I bought
[00:27:12] I have only used it once
[00:27:15] And it was horrible
[00:27:17] Are you talking about the one that you showed me that I asked you and you were like yeah don't get it
[00:27:20] Yeah
[00:27:22] I can give it to you if you want
[00:27:24] Oh that's okay
[00:27:26] You probably broke it with your girth
[00:27:29] Probably
[00:27:31] I got the length but the pencil
[00:27:33] But you got the girth and yeah okay
[00:27:35] Yeah I got the tuna can
[00:27:37] Yeah I still remember the day in the bathroom
[00:27:40] Well I had that one out too
[00:27:44] It's funny because I pulled the shirt up and it was just laying there
[00:27:47] I was like I needed to throw this thing away
[00:27:49] If it didn't work and it's a terrible product get rid of it
[00:27:52] Yeah I know
[00:27:53] I also bought like a bunch of lube to go with it so I don't have like all this lube
[00:27:57] I just don't like fake
[00:28:00] First of all it was one speed and it wasn't fast
[00:28:03] But that's not how it was advertised right
[00:28:05] No it's not
[00:28:07] So maybe I wasn't
[00:28:09] Alright let me take a look at it
[00:28:11] Maybe I'll figure it out
[00:28:13] I'll mail it to you
[00:28:15] I was gonna say if you don't see me for about three months afterwards then you know that you didn't find the right setting
[00:28:19] I wasn't able to discover a secret
[00:28:21] Or an atropenis off in your tuna barris and toilet
[00:28:24] It started with my penis
[00:28:27] And decided to bower the rest of my butt
[00:28:29] Are there supposed to be razor blades in this thing?
[00:28:31] I don't understand
[00:28:33] Remember the movie Teeth?
[00:28:35] Terrible
[00:28:37] Oh speaking of movies I watched one was it last night
[00:28:40] It's newer and it's in your vein
[00:28:42] I don't know if you've seen it yet
[00:28:44] It's called Late Night With The Devil
[00:28:46] No Georgia told me about it we were gonna go see it actually when it came out
[00:28:48] We never did
[00:28:50] Is it good?
[00:28:52] I liked it
[00:28:54] The format that it was in the way they set it up so it was like a 1970s talk show
[00:29:00] But before you even started the movie
[00:29:02] It was explaining how the talk show got set up
[00:29:05] And it was competition with
[00:29:07] Not trying to spoil anything
[00:29:09] I'm not gonna give away the end
[00:29:11] But it was like
[00:29:13] So and so was competing against with Letterman
[00:29:15] And everything else going on in the times
[00:29:16] Everything that he went through and then there was ups and downs
[00:29:20] It almost got cancelled
[00:29:22] But then this one night on Halloween
[00:29:24] They decided to give it the final like
[00:29:26] And you with your possession movies
[00:29:29] And exorcism movies and stuff like that
[00:29:31] I loved it
[00:29:33] The ending came real quick
[00:29:35] But it was perfect
[00:29:37] I loved the way that it was filmed
[00:29:39] Like with that grainy 1970s
[00:29:41] The backdrop everything
[00:29:43] And that actor
[00:29:44] I cannot remember how to pronounce his last name
[00:29:47] Begins with a D
[00:29:49] He was in
[00:29:51] Last one I remember watching him
[00:29:53] In was the last voyage of the Demeter
[00:29:55] Which I was telling you about the Dracula one
[00:29:57] And then he was in
[00:29:59] He was in another big one where he was
[00:30:01] A client or patient of a therapist
[00:30:03] It was a big movie
[00:30:05] And I can't remember a big horror movie
[00:30:07] And he did really well
[00:30:09] He's an awesome character
[00:30:11] Because he has that creepiness
[00:30:12] Like charming
[00:30:14] Like weird creepiness
[00:30:16] But it was really good
[00:30:18] And it was an hour and a half
[00:30:20] That's how horror movies should be
[00:30:22] No longer than an hour and a half
[00:30:24] Because after that
[00:30:26] There's just like you're just putting filler in there
[00:30:28] And it's just yeah
[00:30:30] It drags out too long
[00:30:32] They're like trying to tell stories
[00:30:34] And back stories and stuff like that
[00:30:36] But yeah it was definitely really good
[00:30:38] I'm trying to also watch
[00:30:40] Where'd you watch it on?
[00:30:42] Was it? Okay
[00:30:44] I'm right now
[00:30:46] But yeah it came up on my IMDB watch list
[00:30:48] So I started watching that
[00:30:50] Have you checked out
[00:30:52] What's the series based off the video game right now?
[00:30:55] No but Missy was talking to me about that
[00:30:57] I played it like once or twice
[00:30:59] And I don't play video games
[00:31:01] But it was decent
[00:31:03] And I love Walton Goggins
[00:31:05] Crazy as name for an actor
[00:31:07] He's fucking hilarious
[00:31:09] He is amazing
[00:31:10] He has been in so many movies that you forgot about
[00:31:13] Like just small parts until this came on
[00:31:16] And he's playing the ghoul
[00:31:18] And the entire thing is a watch to make up
[00:31:20] Thing that said that they got him down from I think
[00:31:22] 8 to 10 hours from the original make up
[00:31:25] The artist that was doing this
[00:31:27] Down to about 2 or 3 hours
[00:31:29] And I mean you have to put this thing back on
[00:31:31] You have to cast
[00:31:33] You have to re-wrap, you have to paint
[00:31:35] You have to do everything and then
[00:31:37] You know the missing nose in the middle of it
[00:31:38] And his just acting skills
[00:31:40] Just his southern gentleman
[00:31:42] Yeah yeah yeah
[00:31:44] Personality in real life
[00:31:46] Actually just carries through
[00:31:48] I mean he was in the muddy gemstones
[00:31:50] So great in that
[00:31:52] And also in vice principles
[00:31:54] Have you seen vice principles?
[00:31:56] Yes because that's what I saw first
[00:31:58] Him and Danny
[00:32:00] What's his name?
[00:32:02] Yeah Danny McBride
[00:32:04] The two of them in that fucking show are perfect
[00:32:06] Against yes
[00:32:08] He's actually the best character
[00:32:10] He actually was in I remember way back
[00:32:12] Walton Goggins
[00:32:14] Was in House of Thousand Corpses
[00:32:16] He played one of the sheriffs
[00:32:18] That got killed
[00:32:20] Small role
[00:32:22] Just like he was in Quentin Tarantino's
[00:32:24] The hateful 8
[00:32:26] He was one of the guys that could kill him
[00:32:28] You never like paid that much attention
[00:32:30] And you know who he is
[00:32:32] But I remember from way back in the day
[00:32:34] Because I just loved his acting
[00:32:36] Style and his just like
[00:32:38] Everything about it is just like awesome
[00:32:40] It's so funny
[00:32:42] And he's just
[00:32:44] Yeah he just carries that into this show too
[00:32:46] So what is it called?
[00:32:48] Everybody is screaming
[00:32:50] Is it doom?
[00:32:52] No doom was old
[00:32:54] That was the way in the rock Johnson
[00:32:56] Tried to cover that
[00:32:58] Out something
[00:33:00] Oh fall out
[00:33:02] Thank you
[00:33:04] And then the girl that was in there
[00:33:06] Was in the Yellow Jackets series
[00:33:08] That's exactly the same
[00:33:10] Oh yeah both seasons
[00:33:12] I saw the first season
[00:33:14] And then I was waiting for Sophie
[00:33:16] To come home last summer to watch the second season
[00:33:18] And we just never got into it
[00:33:20] But I have to
[00:33:22] You never got into it or you never got into it
[00:33:24] I never got to it
[00:33:26] I loved the first season
[00:33:28] And see there's
[00:33:30] What's her name?
[00:33:32] Mallory
[00:33:34] Oh yeah her too
[00:33:36] But she was awesome in that too
[00:33:38] I'm trying to follow up with
[00:33:40] Just
[00:33:42] No
[00:33:44] Jennifer Love Hewitt
[00:33:46] Jennifer Love Hewitt
[00:33:48] Jennifer Love Huge Tits
[00:33:50] Juliette Lewis
[00:33:52] She's a musician
[00:33:54] Have you ever checked out her band?
[00:33:56] No
[00:33:58] I don't think they play anymore
[00:34:00] Every once in a while she jumps on stage
[00:34:02] With them when they have reunion shows
[00:34:04] But she was in like this rock and roll
[00:34:06] Garage
[00:34:08] Just look up Juliette Lewis on Spotify
[00:34:10] And they have some great songs where she's the vocalist
[00:34:13] Nice
[00:34:15] Yeah
[00:34:17] I'm sad that I'm missing her
[00:34:19] What's her name?
[00:34:21] Rose McGowan
[00:34:23] I thought you had that thing for her back in the day
[00:34:25] What was it?
[00:34:27] What was it?
[00:34:29] I'm not blind
[00:34:31] I was going to say there's plenty of other people
[00:34:33] Jesus Christ that ass dude
[00:34:35] Do you think that if I paid triple
[00:34:36] To get a photo op of just me with my tongue on her asshole?
[00:34:39] Actually I heard that that's possible
[00:34:41] Is that an option?
[00:34:43] Yeah it's a secret
[00:34:45] You have to actually email the promoter
[00:34:47] Okay I'll do that
[00:34:49] I'll talk on your asshole first to make sure it's okay
[00:34:51] He could do whatever he wants to my asshole
[00:34:53] If I get my tongue on her ass
[00:34:55] Only if she's dressed in the prosthetic like from
[00:34:57] Brian House
[00:34:59] The machine
[00:35:01] You never saw that?
[00:35:03] I have it on DVD
[00:35:04] Oh I actually have a Blu-ray player still so
[00:35:07] Yeah I have it here at the house
[00:35:09] It was pretty good
[00:35:11] Yeah she has a sex tape that leaked
[00:35:13] Before you get into that
[00:35:15] What else was she in?
[00:35:17] Okay I know Scream
[00:35:19] I know Grind House movie
[00:35:21] And I know Stupid Thing My Sister Long
[00:35:23] Shout out to Karla
[00:35:25] What stupid thing she likes
[00:35:27] That witchcraft thing that was back in the day
[00:35:29] That series
[00:35:31] I still watch that one
[00:35:32] The other one that nobody cares about
[00:35:34] No the other one that everybody she has like cancer now
[00:35:36] She's dying
[00:35:38] Alyssa?
[00:35:40] No she's I fucking can't stand her
[00:35:42] Alyssa Milano
[00:35:44] Why is that?
[00:35:46] I hate her politics
[00:35:48] You guys get too involved in what people get into
[00:35:50] I would still lick her butthole but I would do it with it
[00:35:52] Samantha
[00:35:54] What the fuck's her name?
[00:35:56] The girl from 90210
[00:35:58] The brunette from 90210 was
[00:36:00] In
[00:36:02] This is what happens when two 40 year old idiots get together
[00:36:05] Come listen to Ron and Tom try to remember people's names
[00:36:08] I remember back in the day when we used to have to walk 50 miles
[00:36:11] But I can't remember the name of the girl
[00:36:13] I have no idea what they were talking about
[00:36:15] I know what you're talking about
[00:36:17] Yeah Brenda
[00:36:19] But I know he means
[00:36:21] That was Karla's favorite show
[00:36:23] That witch's
[00:36:25] No what was the witch's show
[00:36:27] You're saying that was a great show
[00:36:29] Yeah I still watch it
[00:36:30] I've been watching it on TNT
[00:36:32] It's like watching it on TNT
[00:36:34] Oh god I can't
[00:36:36] But I only watch it if it's not a Rose McGowan
[00:36:38] If it's not one of her seasons I'll just turn it off
[00:36:40] But if it's Rose McGowan
[00:36:43] But do you like it because you think she's a good actor
[00:36:46] Or do you like it because you like watching
[00:36:48] Cause she's not nude
[00:36:50] She doesn't have to
[00:36:52] She is one of those very few people
[00:36:54] She could be wearing
[00:36:56] She could be dressed like a fucking Amish woman
[00:36:58] And she's still super sexy
[00:37:00] I think it's the eye thing
[00:37:02] I don't know what it is
[00:37:04] She has an eye thing
[00:37:06] I thought her eyes were a little bit more prominent like bulgy
[00:37:08] No?
[00:37:10] Yes you're right
[00:37:12] Same with Christina Ricci
[00:37:14] And Dave Foley
[00:37:16] Dave Foley when he's a chick
[00:37:18] No you didn't need to have him be a chick
[00:37:20] I don't know I just say it to make it sound a little less homosexual
[00:37:22] But what was his name from Green Day too
[00:37:24] You had a thing for him
[00:37:26] I didn't have a thing for him
[00:37:28] You did
[00:37:30] He does have his eyes there too
[00:37:32] He was like really excited about something for a second
[00:37:35] Oh yeah that was weird
[00:37:37] It's not gay if you have sex with a dude because of his eyes
[00:37:40] I was going to say nobody's calling anything these days
[00:37:42] Yeah
[00:37:44] And if you don't come
[00:37:46] Well
[00:37:48] If you do it's just like
[00:37:50] It's only gay if you
[00:37:52] It's just like a little accident
[00:37:54] What the fuck is that show called now that's pissing me off
[00:37:56] Charmed
[00:37:58] Just came to me I have no idea
[00:38:00] I looked over at a picture of Psycho
[00:38:02] And it just reminded me because it's Janet Lee
[00:38:05] But they're calling her
[00:38:07] Buzongas
[00:38:09] I will say this about
[00:38:11] Alyssa Milano
[00:38:13] One of the hottest Don porn movies of all time
[00:38:15] Is
[00:38:17] Kiss of the Vampire
[00:38:19] No is she in that
[00:38:21] She was in a vampire movie where she did a lesbian scene
[00:38:23] And then her movie's writing it out
[00:38:25] There's a part two to a famous movie
[00:38:27] See this is
[00:38:28] This is absolutely terrible
[00:38:30] I can't even think of an Alyssa Milano movie that was like
[00:38:35] Well I always thought she was
[00:38:37] It's basically soft-core porn
[00:38:39] Is it the one I was telling you about
[00:38:41] Where she's like sitting there with a girl
[00:38:43] And she's laying against the wall
[00:38:45] This girl's like kissing her boobs
[00:38:47] And it's like Tia Carrera
[00:38:49] From Wayne's World
[00:38:51] Maybe
[00:38:53] Poison Ivy too
[00:38:55] I know what you're talking about
[00:38:56] She's not in this one
[00:38:58] That's another movie you're thinking of
[00:39:00] Yeah it's like Vampire or something
[00:39:02] Cause what was the original Poison Ivy?
[00:39:05] Who was in that?
[00:39:07] I think it was Tom Scarrett
[00:39:09] Was any in their first one
[00:39:11] It was Drew Barrymore
[00:39:13] Yeah and Tom Scarrett
[00:39:15] And he was like
[00:39:17] Didn't he get like a
[00:39:19] Accused of being like a pedophile or something?
[00:39:21] Dude from Ant-
[00:39:23] This one
[00:39:24] Maybe two lily
[00:39:26] Everything back in the day was directed video
[00:39:28] Now it's all streaming
[00:39:30] So what does it matter?
[00:39:32] How many of Matt's movies right now are available to watch?
[00:39:34] Do you know?
[00:39:36] I don't think any of them are yet
[00:39:38] One of them will be in July
[00:39:41] Which one?
[00:39:43] Isn't Chum available?
[00:39:45] Is it?
[00:39:47] Maybe it is
[00:39:49] I looked a lot of them up
[00:39:51] To see if they were available to rent
[00:39:52] The film trash productions
[00:39:55] Oh yeah yeah yeah
[00:39:57] So that has anything with like mouse
[00:39:59] And everybody else looking at too
[00:40:01] So they just finished filming Fur
[00:40:03] Which should be out in July
[00:40:05] So they finished
[00:40:07] Alright
[00:40:09] Have you been watching the clips?
[00:40:11] I'm sure with Matt
[00:40:13] On all the time
[00:40:15] It was so funny because up until about
[00:40:17] Two or three weeks ago
[00:40:19] I had no idea that the plot of that movie
[00:40:20] Was an animatronic bear
[00:40:22] I was like I'm watching the clips
[00:40:24] And the trailers and everything like that
[00:40:26] This is the fucking worst bear
[00:40:28] I've ever seen in my life
[00:40:30] And then they said like
[00:40:32] I was listening to the interview
[00:40:34] That you guys had on there
[00:40:36] Yeah everybody was like oh bad timing
[00:40:38] With the animatronic bear thing
[00:40:40] I was like oh that's
[00:40:42] They're not even trying
[00:40:44] What the fuck
[00:40:46] They just basically got somebody in a 1970s bear costume
[00:40:48] To come out here
[00:40:50] You guys were talking about best
[00:40:52] Best bear attack scenes
[00:40:54] Oh yeah
[00:40:56] In a movie
[00:40:58] There was a movie that scared the fuck out of me
[00:41:00] When I was a kid
[00:41:02] And we were in Deep Creek Lake
[00:41:04] In a cabin in the woods
[00:41:06] Before my parents bought the place
[00:41:08] Back when I was like maybe
[00:41:10] I want to say Elford
[00:41:12] Before the townhouse
[00:41:14] We used to go to this place
[00:41:16] We had been going to Deep Creek Lake
[00:41:18] Since I was probably about
[00:41:20] To school
[00:41:22] Oh so like even before I met you
[00:41:24] Oh yeah
[00:41:26] Were you in Jersey when you were going to Deep Creek?
[00:41:28] No not a you gotta remember I moved
[00:41:30] You lived in Croft and then you moved back
[00:41:32] Born in Pennsylvania
[00:41:34] Moved to Crofton in third grade
[00:41:36] I started third grade there
[00:41:38] Went all the way through to seventh grade
[00:41:41] Jersey in eighth grade came back to Crofton
[00:41:43] And again in ninth
[00:41:45] Oh you only gone for one year
[00:41:47] Between, okay
[00:41:48] We went to this place
[00:41:50] We used to go to this place called the Brawlings
[00:41:52] Out there and it was
[00:41:54] You go down past
[00:41:56] Everything in the commuting area
[00:41:58] But it was just off the side
[00:42:00] And when you went back there
[00:42:02] It was just this dirt road
[00:42:04] That's what I told you the whole thing about
[00:42:06] Like I had a personal bear attack
[00:42:08] You did?
[00:42:10] Yes with my father and my sister
[00:42:12] It attacked you when you saw a bear
[00:42:14] Listen alright here we go real quick
[00:42:16] I'll sum this up
[00:42:18] I'm not sure what this family is
[00:42:20] So one day we go to this place all the time
[00:42:23] And I love nature so in the morning
[00:42:25] I'd get up and I'd go
[00:42:27] My parents would be like steak around in the yard
[00:42:29] And go hang out and I'd go look for
[00:42:31] Little like different kinds of lichens
[00:42:33] Moss you know whatever plants
[00:42:35] Trying to see if I could
[00:42:37] I would say maybe
[00:42:39] God sixth grade seventh grade
[00:42:41] Okay
[00:42:43] Maybe I might be pushing on it
[00:42:45] Can't remember how that far back
[00:42:46] I just loved being it was submerged in the woods
[00:42:48] It was I want to say cabin
[00:42:50] It was a really nice little place
[00:42:52] Outdated as hell but it was secure
[00:42:54] It was like secluded away from everything else
[00:42:56] And you always went to the same place every time
[00:42:58] Yeah that same cabin
[00:43:00] They had a nice fireplace in the family room
[00:43:02] That you could build on
[00:43:04] You know you went kitchen was downstairs
[00:43:06] A deck out back that was just like woods
[00:43:08] Actually the funniest thing about it
[00:43:10] Was like do you remember one of my favorite movies
[00:43:12] Is Tom Savini's remake of Night of Living Dead
[00:43:14] In 1990
[00:43:16] It had a lot of people in there
[00:43:18] Candyman was in that
[00:43:20] He was a little girl
[00:43:22] Tony Todd
[00:43:24] And when you walked out the back door off the deck
[00:43:26] It looked just like walking out the back door
[00:43:28] Of the remake
[00:43:30] Where they're like pushing the body out the back
[00:43:32] And there's just
[00:43:34] Saw me coming out through the woods
[00:43:36] And it's dark
[00:43:38] There's only this little tiny bulb porch like
[00:43:40] You walk back in your kitchen
[00:43:42] Everything's like it's dated as hell
[00:43:44] The room downstairs had a waterbed
[00:43:46] A queen sized waterbed
[00:43:48] Then you go upstairs
[00:43:50] And there was a big area
[00:43:52] Bedrooms this and that and everything
[00:43:54] And I just remember
[00:43:56] Parents were sleeping
[00:43:58] Everybody was sleeping
[00:44:00] We'd go out there, they'd go skiing
[00:44:02] Then we'd come back
[00:44:04] And I was outside hanging out
[00:44:06] And one morning my dad's like
[00:44:08] Hey you and your sister and me
[00:44:10] He was pissed at my mom for something
[00:44:12] He said let's just go for a walk
[00:44:14] And he's trying to like
[00:44:16] Go around because there was a circle
[00:44:18] And we're looking up and everybody sees
[00:44:20] This big brown lump at the
[00:44:22] At the end of the thing
[00:44:24] And we're like, nah
[00:44:26] Nobody's saying what they think it is
[00:44:28] They're just
[00:44:30] We all know
[00:44:32] Next thing I know this good thing
[00:44:34] Jump up
[00:44:36] Starts running towards us
[00:44:38] Holy shit
[00:44:40] I fucking turned around
[00:44:42] My dad and my sister are
[00:44:44] God
[00:44:46] Come on Tommy
[00:44:48] Even though the movie hadn't come out
[00:44:50] This is a long
[00:44:52] So we get to a certain spot
[00:44:54] But I couldn't believe that my father left me
[00:44:56] He's like I'll save the younger one
[00:44:58] The older one
[00:45:00] We can retrain this
[00:45:02] And we turn around and we look at one point
[00:45:04] And what happened was
[00:45:06] It was a mom bear
[00:45:08] Or a big brown bear
[00:45:10] That was sleeping in the middle of a bend
[00:45:12] And a car came around slowly
[00:45:14] And woke it up
[00:45:16] And what I thought about was yeah
[00:45:18] Bear attack
[00:45:20] But I never let him live that down
[00:45:22] He's like no I did
[00:45:24] I would never
[00:45:26] I was like howl eating nuts in the street
[00:45:28] So
[00:45:30] So what was it
[00:45:32] Two nights later
[00:45:34] When this is back when you had to run
[00:45:36] Movies at the videos
[00:45:38] And the place there
[00:45:40] Didn't quite have the movies that you would have normally
[00:45:42] They're like oh we got a movie for you guys
[00:45:44] And they wouldn't tell us what it was
[00:45:46] And we get back to the house
[00:45:48] And they're like we got one
[00:45:50] And we pop it in the DCR
[00:45:52] It's a movie called Grizzly
[00:45:54] You kidding me
[00:45:56] Yeah it's about a grizzly in a park
[00:45:58] That goes rogue gets a taste for human blood
[00:46:00] And we're in this place where there's no lights
[00:46:02] You know outside
[00:46:04] There's no like you can't flip a switch
[00:46:06] Besides this little light bulb hanging out the back
[00:46:08] Like I was talking about
[00:46:10] And they're like yeah
[00:46:12] Alright go to bed
[00:46:14] And this is back in the day when those movies were like
[00:46:16] Not really out of the movies
[00:46:18] But they're only rated PG PG
[00:46:20] So you can watch it and there's like
[00:46:22] Malling like I think Poulter guys was like PG
[00:46:24] If you go back to the original Pulter guys
[00:46:27] There's nothing gory in it or growth
[00:46:30] But oh fuck a kid up
[00:46:32] Oh hell yeah
[00:46:34] So it should have been at least PG-13
[00:46:36] Yeah back then if there were no like
[00:46:38] If there was no gore or titties
[00:46:40] It was always like PG
[00:46:42] No and I don't think there was any of that
[00:46:44] Do you remember that
[00:46:46] They smoked in the beginning when the kids went to sleep
[00:46:48] So there was a lot of use back then
[00:46:50] I don't
[00:46:52] Yeah unless there was like that scene where she's like in the pool
[00:46:54] And she wasn't
[00:46:56] There was nothing nude in the pool and there was no gore
[00:46:58] There was just a skeleton came out of the
[00:47:00] You know those are real skeletons?
[00:47:02] I don't know I read that
[00:47:04] Who are you talking to?
[00:47:06] Come on
[00:47:08] I'm wearing a even see what this stupid shirt is
[00:47:10] What is it?
[00:47:12] Did you ever watch Return of the Living Dead?
[00:47:14] Yes that's awesome
[00:47:16] I mean about four years ago
[00:47:18] Hell yeah
[00:47:20] They took tarman's face and they put it on a pumpkin
[00:47:22] And they made the shirt orange
[00:47:24] And they were like happy Halloween
[00:47:26] They just utilized that tarman
[00:47:28] I actually have the
[00:47:30] I have a small print of natural born
[00:47:33] Not natural born killers of
[00:47:35] Return of the Living Dead up there next to
[00:47:37] Nice
[00:47:39] Do you remember that
[00:47:41] Living at J's basically
[00:47:43] What reservoir dogs?
[00:47:44] I remember that movie
[00:47:46] I don't know I thought it was so overrated
[00:47:48] Really?
[00:47:50] Yeah I haven't watched it in decades
[00:47:52] I should probably give it another chance
[00:47:54] If you go back now and watch it
[00:47:56] I think you'd really appreciate it
[00:47:58] Still one of the funniest lines
[00:48:00] Of any movie ever is from that movie
[00:48:02] Are you talking about the first
[00:48:04] In the beginning of the scene
[00:48:06] Were you talking about Madonna?
[00:48:08] No
[00:48:10] I'm talking about when they would give out the names
[00:48:12] What do I have to be Mr. Pink?
[00:48:14] I don't have to be Mr. Pink because you're a faggot
[00:48:16] That's what
[00:48:18] One of my favorites
[00:48:20] Second to that in that movie
[00:48:22] What's his name?
[00:48:24] The big guy that was playing on the whole thing
[00:48:26] He's like I got Madonna's big dick in my one ear
[00:48:28] And I've got
[00:48:30] And he's like
[00:48:32] Because they're like a virgin is talking about
[00:48:34] When she got fucked for the first time
[00:48:36] And then they're talking about something
[00:48:38] And they get to the other side
[00:48:40] He's like shut will you shut the fuck up
[00:48:42] He's like Madonna's big dick in one ear
[00:48:44] And I thought you would appreciate that one too
[00:48:46] Yeah
[00:48:48] Oh man fucking Madonna
[00:48:50] What's your favorite serial
[00:48:52] We've been asking that question to people lately
[00:48:54] Yeah that's weird because I've been going up and down the serial
[00:48:56] I was trying to find something
[00:48:58] Different
[00:49:00] For my boys
[00:49:02] That's not junk 100%
[00:49:04] Now I got them
[00:49:06] Okay DBA just for a second
[00:49:08] Because I haven't given you mine
[00:49:10] But
[00:49:12] I brought in kicks
[00:49:14] Back in the day it was fun it would float
[00:49:16] If there was a hole in one I'd try to push it down into the mouth
[00:49:18] Yeah
[00:49:20] I always had competition with my serial
[00:49:22] Checks, mix, any of that thing
[00:49:24] They all had to try to float until I pushed those motherfuckers
[00:49:27] Until they couldn't breathe anymore
[00:49:29] Sign of a serial killer
[00:49:31] No pun intended serial
[00:49:33] Oh
[00:49:35] And then
[00:49:37] The other one that they had for the same price
[00:49:40] I think because you know it's always got to be about bargains these days
[00:49:44] And
[00:49:46] Was Golden Gramps
[00:49:48] And they put the Golden Gramps in a retro thing
[00:49:50] Do you remember Golden Gramps?
[00:49:52] I mean it's Grand Crackers basically
[00:49:54] I didn't like Golden Gramps
[00:49:56] They were like the poor man's life
[00:49:58] And speaking of which
[00:50:00] You guys kept quoting that
[00:50:02] What's it called
[00:50:04] Quaker Oatsquares
[00:50:06] I don't know where the fuck you guys shop
[00:50:08] That you can find this
[00:50:10] I've looked in
[00:50:12] Two, three different grocery stores to find this lately
[00:50:14] I think it's done
[00:50:16] I think it must be because I've been in three different stores a few times
[00:50:20] Like you said the only Quaker cereal on the shelves now are the granola crunch ones
[00:50:25] And I remember what you guys talked about
[00:50:28] Because I loved that stuff
[00:50:30] It was so good just like as a snack
[00:50:32] Just like they were so good
[00:50:34] No I do that with all my cereal lately though
[00:50:37] I mean like any little fiber in my diet
[00:50:40] I grab a raisin brand from work
[00:50:41] And just eat it
[00:50:43] Same thing with cherries
[00:50:45] But those were same thing with mini-weets and all that other crap
[00:50:48] But I could not find them anywhere
[00:50:51] You can probably just go on Amazon
[00:50:53] Probably these days
[00:50:55] Everything is in there
[00:50:57] But favorite cereal for myself
[00:51:00] Man these days
[00:51:04] I have to say I walked one day like three miles to buy a box of fruity pebbles
[00:51:09] Because I was craving it so bad
[00:51:12] That shit is one of the best
[00:51:14] It's crack in a box
[00:51:16] Ever made
[00:51:18] It's like fruity pebbles and then eight miles down is the second best cereal
[00:51:22] Whatever that is
[00:51:24] But you are 100% correct that there has to be a method to eating that
[00:51:28] Because it gets soggy like that
[00:51:30] Oh no it's a job
[00:51:32] You gotta keep moving
[00:51:34] You're constantly moving with the fruity pebbles
[00:51:36] But when I told Xavier that
[00:51:39] My son he was just like oh my god he's like that's too much work I can't do that
[00:51:43] Just give me a little bit of support in my mouth and eat it
[00:51:46] And it's healthy with fruit fruity pebbles
[00:51:48] You gotta get a dose of fruit in there
[00:51:50] I think I'm just, it was
[00:51:52] I don't eat that much cereal
[00:51:54] Because normally by the time I get to work
[00:51:56] I've never been one of these people that can eat cereal for dinner
[00:51:59] I don't understand it
[00:52:01] Like to me it has to be eaten in the morning or has to be eaten dry as a snack
[00:52:05] That's just, that's me that I know that I'm in the rare opinion for
[00:52:09] That but I just have, I'm nostalgic for so many old ones
[00:52:14] Back in the day you mentioned on a post on like social media about like
[00:52:21] Best Batman was Michael Keaton
[00:52:23] Oh yeah
[00:52:25] Do you remember when the original Batman cereal came out?
[00:52:28] Yes
[00:52:30] There were just those little bat shaped things
[00:52:32] And they came in and I would power the hell out of that
[00:52:36] Yeah
[00:52:37] And that was the thing when we were kids in the 80s
[00:52:40] It was like a kids movie always had like a cereal
[00:52:44] Right
[00:52:45] That came out with it
[00:52:47] And it didn't necessarily have to have marshmallows in it
[00:52:49] No, it would usually taste like shit
[00:52:51] It was just sugary shaped of whatever the movie was
[00:52:53] Thanks lady, you really gotta have that
[00:52:55] But do you remember there was one also called Crispy Critters
[00:52:59] I don't know if I remember that, Crispy Critters
[00:53:02] It was almost like Animal Crackers
[00:53:04] But in that same kind of form
[00:53:07] Yeah
[00:53:09] And if you go back you can find this on YouTube
[00:53:11] There was a, I'm going to do it for you real quick
[00:53:13] Yeah
[00:53:15] The song, the advertising song went
[00:53:18] It's just Crispy Critters, the good wholesome bunch
[00:53:21] The low sugar cereal
[00:53:23] That's Bandukka Ranch
[00:53:25] Indubitably
[00:53:27] Delicious
[00:53:29] That sounds familiar to me
[00:53:31] Yeah, that sounds familiar to me
[00:53:33] And the other thing that used the exact same model of the exact same cereal
[00:53:37] It changed the shapes into these little stupid smiling faces
[00:53:40] Like you see those, you know those french fries
[00:53:43] That are smiling
[00:53:45] It was called the Funny Pages
[00:53:47] Do you remember that one?
[00:53:49] No
[00:53:51] So it was a cereal that
[00:53:53] It was a little smiley faces just like the Batman cereal
[00:53:56] In the same form but just
[00:53:58] Not the same form, the same whatever
[00:54:00] And when you got the box
[00:54:02] You opened it and there was like an extra page on the front
[00:54:05] And it was like Family Circus
[00:54:07] It was Garfield
[00:54:09] It was like tweeting
[00:54:11] And it was great
[00:54:13] For the first day
[00:54:15] Just read that
[00:54:17] And then you had like ten days worth of cereal
[00:54:20] And they were like, I fucking read this
[00:54:22] Like, why would you do this to me?
[00:54:24] At least make like a couple of pages
[00:54:26] That like day one you rip out one
[00:54:28] You take it and see
[00:54:30] They should bring that back
[00:54:32] I'm sure people collect cereals
[00:54:33] You can get that somewhere
[00:54:35] I mean look at the
[00:54:37] Look at the count cereals
[00:54:39] The Count Chocula, the Frankenberry
[00:54:41] I actually won the contest
[00:54:43] With the kids last year
[00:54:45] To win these like handmade little figurines
[00:54:48] Nice
[00:54:50] They got shipped to my house
[00:54:52] So I got a Boo-Berry
[00:54:54] Now they fucked that up
[00:54:56] They changed it too
[00:54:58] They threw in a different guy
[00:55:00] They threw in the Wolf
[00:55:01] The Count Chocula, Frankenberry
[00:55:04] Was originally fruity, mummy, yummy
[00:55:07] And then Boo-Berry
[00:55:09] Boo-Berry, yeah
[00:55:11] But then they took the mummy away
[00:55:13] And they put on this fruit group
[00:55:15] Son of a bitch
[00:55:17] This is all like a werewolf that came in
[00:55:19] Werewolves don't eat fruit
[00:55:21] I know, what the fuck
[00:55:23] So alright
[00:55:25] You name one book, one TV show, one movie and one album
[00:55:27] If you had to go the rest of your life
[00:55:29] With one book
[00:55:31] With one movie and one album
[00:55:33] And you're a reader so that's probably hard for you
[00:55:35] I've only read like four books
[00:55:37] Yeah but the majority of my stuff is Stephen King and Claude Barker
[00:55:40] So it's all like fantasy
[00:55:42] It's so weird and it's so con-
[00:55:44] What's your favorite Stephen King book?
[00:55:46] Favorite Stephen King
[00:55:48] Honestly I have to go with Pet Sematary
[00:55:50] Pet Sematary and Kujo were the two
[00:55:53] It's something about the animals
[00:55:55] Like what I really liked about Pet Sematary
[00:55:58] The book itself was
[00:56:01] The fact of like being able to turn something back again
[00:56:04] But it's not coming back quite right
[00:56:07] It's not like you're having the
[00:56:09] What you got, what you put in the ground
[00:56:12] And I loved it
[00:56:14] And I loved the original version of the movie
[00:56:16] The adaption
[00:56:18] I think it was one of the best ones
[00:56:20] Yeah that was good
[00:56:22] Yeah I don't care what Stephen King says about the Stanley Kubrick
[00:56:25] Shawning adaption
[00:56:27] I think Jack Nicholson and that one too
[00:56:29] Sorry I'm delving into film again
[00:56:31] But yeah it's cool
[00:56:33] Yeah I think that was awesome
[00:56:35] But there's also a special place in my heart
[00:56:39] Because I guess that was a pre-teen
[00:56:44] Maybe in Boy Scouts
[00:56:46] Reading for the first time
[00:56:48] Ketch-er and the Rai
[00:56:50] Yeah that's actually one of the
[00:56:52] That's the first book I ever read
[00:56:54] Yeah
[00:56:56] That I didn't have to read
[00:56:58] Yeah exactly
[00:57:00] That I read in like two days
[00:57:02] I just had to read through in a couple of curse words
[00:57:04] To emphasize the point on like what
[00:57:07] The guy was feeling when he was talking about
[00:57:09] Yeah
[00:57:11] Movie
[00:57:13] I mean I think you and me both have the same feeling with at least
[00:57:15] Nightmare for Christmas, nostalgic value
[00:57:17] The way that they came across with that
[00:57:19] Pretty new and everything
[00:57:21] Album
[00:57:23] Good God
[00:57:25] There's so many things to think about when it comes to
[00:57:27] Yeah what was yours?
[00:57:29] Curious
[00:57:30] So let's see
[00:57:32] So for
[00:57:34] For book
[00:57:36] I was kind of hung up between the shining and misery
[00:57:39] Yeah I love how you did
[00:57:41] Misery the book
[00:57:43] Oh yeah yeah
[00:57:45] I had to make sure it was true to the book
[00:57:47] Just like we were talking about with little shoppers
[00:57:49] Making a big difference between
[00:57:51] You know screen and the actual thing
[00:57:53] Anyway yeah
[00:57:55] I think I picked misery
[00:57:58] But that might have just been because I just got in the tattoo
[00:58:00] I might
[00:58:02] The shining was the only book I've ever read where it was actually so scary that I had to stop reading it at some points
[00:58:06] Really?
[00:58:08] Yeah I remember being at home alone and reading it
[00:58:10] I'm like I need to put this down for a night
[00:58:12] TV show for me is always Sanford and Son
[00:58:15] I don't even have to think about that
[00:58:17] That's always been a thing
[00:58:19] There's no funny
[00:58:21] Yeah and then
[00:58:23] I think I said my brain hurts for albums Screeching Weasel
[00:58:25] Man that's a
[00:58:27] That jawbreaker you record is really really fucking good too
[00:58:28] See I would never back in the day
[00:58:31] Of pictured you being a draw jawbreaker
[00:58:34] Like fan
[00:58:36] Yeah I wasn't back in the day this is kind of like a new thing for me
[00:58:39] So
[00:58:41] Have you guys ever listened with jawbreaker
[00:58:43] I would always assume them with Sam I am too
[00:58:45] Like do you listen to Sam I am
[00:58:47] I don't
[00:58:49] But I know like Matt loves them and everybody who we have on the show loves them
[00:58:52] Yeah
[00:58:54] Something about him just reminds me about
[00:58:55] And something about that also reminds me about going back to blank
[00:58:58] You remember blank?
[00:59:00] Oh yeah
[00:59:02] I was just talking to somebody about them too because that last album that blank put out before

[00:59:15] So you liked it too I didn't think you really got it
[00:59:17] Oh yeah I loved blank I went to the reunion show a few years back at the auto bar

[00:59:22] When was that
[00:59:23] That was a little while ago
[00:59:25] Yeah that must have been like I think that was
[00:59:27] 2010 to 2015 somewhere around there maybe
[00:59:31] I don't know
[00:59:33] But I remember I was there
[00:59:35] I think I went with Dylan and I remember Adria was there
[00:59:37] I mean everybody from fucking back in the day was there
[00:59:40] Right
[00:59:42] You might have been in Deep Creek still
[00:59:44] I remember when it came up but yeah I knew I couldn't make it out because I wasn't anywhere around
[00:59:49] Yeah
[00:59:51] Alright buddy well good luck
